I am starting my last year of nursing school and recently took a job as a nurse tech on a med-surg unit. Well - to put it lightly I HATE it! I get treated like a piece of garbage. The nurses run around all day stressed out, the doctors yell, and oh g...
I was recently offered a job at a local hospital pending my background check. It has been two weeks and they still don't have it processed! The head nurse from the floor has been touching base with me every couple of days. I tried calling hr myself a...
I am a Nursing Student and I had an interview scheduled last week (for a tech position) - I had a true emergency in the middle of the night. Well I called to reschedule and they let me. This is completely out of my character - will they still conside...

When I first started NS I almost got sucked into that crap. Then I took a step back - I changed seats and only talk to people who act like "adults." I just ignore people when they gossip. Remember - you are in school for your future - not to make fri...
I can't imagine sitting around at clinicals all day gossiping and getting in the way. If I'm not with my patient I practically beg to be given something to do - and I never take up chairs or counter space if I see a Nurse or Doctor needs it. Maybe so...
I am currently in an Associate Degree Nursing program and they offer a LVN transition class in the summer. It includes tons and tons of clinical time. Would it be worth it to do the class strictly for experience before my 2nd year in the RN program?

I just went thru the same thing in my lab - they said you can use tap water - but at my clinical site (rehab hospital) they use pre-filled syringes with sterile water for all the patients.
