Hi,

I graduated in 2007 with a BSN, and have yet to get a hospital job. i work in a doctor's office, and am wondering if i stay there, will i ever get a hospital job?:banghead: i have applied to every hospital in the state, over and over since last year. can't tell you how frustrated i am. i know that if i never get into a hospital, i can't continue being a RN, b/c i am making NO MONEY at all!!! i owe more than you can imagine in student loan debt. it's not like i am setting my hopes on one major hospital. i would be perfectly satisfied with a community hospital, yet get no calls.

any advice???

THANKS:)

I don't know where you live but I just saw a part time position at North Shore Medical, it was for 24 hours nights, new grads welcome to apply.

hi,

just a suggestion, but have you tried re-writing your Resume and cover letter? maybe your not selling yourself. Also it may be beneficial to call hospitals and talk to the nurse recruiters out there, sometimes that can increase your chances of at least getting an interview. Good luck.

Hi Liz,

I'm in the same situation like you. I graduated in May 08 and have been looking for a job since late June 08. I've only got one call from a teaching hospital. I've had experience working as a nursing assistant, but a lot of hospitals just don't have budgets to hire new grads. I know the hiring manager in one of the teaching hospitals and she told me that they have a hiring freeze now. Just keep applying and calling HR. Try networking too. Ask your friends who are working in one. It's so much quicker and easier than going through HR. Good luck!

Hey Liz!

I was bummed to see your post! I remember reading some a while ago....My advice? Move if you can!!! I moved to NC because I wasn't offered any positions in Mass. New grads here can't fathom not being able to get a new-grad job WITH a sign-on bonus. Crazy the difference. Good luck to you!
