University of Maryland Traditional BSN Fall Program: Any idea when we will hear back?

U.S.A. Maryland

Published

I was wondering if there was anyone out there that applied last fall that could tell us when they learned the fate of their application? I was just wondering how long we (Fall 2009 applicants) would have to wait until we hear back from the admissions office. Thanks and good luck to everyone else!

There are also programs with MD hospitals where you will get one year of in-state tuition if you commit to working at a MD hospital for 2 years. Theorhetically, you could commit to 4 years and get in-state for both years... I live in DC and looked into those in case I ended up at UMd since EVERYWHERE is out of state for DC residents who already have degrees.

how do they calculate your overall gpa? is it only in the 59 needed pre-reqs that is your 'overall gpa'? or is it every college class you have ever taken? sorry, i understand what the science gpa is... its ap1, ap2, chem, micro and maybe stats too? but what does overall gpa mean. overal gpa for prereqs or overall gpa from college ever? or the gpa that can be calculated by adding up what is on the pre req fill-in page for the mail in application part....thanks!

from my understanding they don't really let you in on how they calculate gpa. i think you'll be okay jumpforjune.

i just got all my stuff in and i'm pretty pumped over that so don't sweat it. good luck.

Anyone hear back from the state Workforce Shortage Scholarship program yet?

Specializes in mental health.

not sure if its the same thing, but im waiting on the HRSA nursing scholarship program. they are supposed to send out notices this week.

i got the package too.

anyone ever hear of chegg.com where you can rent texts for the semester? some of them are like 30$/free shipping.

I quite often would check textbooks out from the library through interlibrary loan.....Especially for "readings" texts....

Did you get the WSSG yet? I got mine 2-3 weeks ago. Chech the MHEC web site, under student inquiry, if you're still looking.

Wait...if they received your application what does it say under status? There is nothing there for me besides that they received my FAFSA. And I applied back in like April/June.

Hey guys,

So I applied to U of MD for the Spring 2010 semester. Its been exactly a month and I haven't heard a word. The only application still says "committee ready". I am starting to get a little bit nervous. I applied with a 3.38 GPA and got a 82 on the nursing exam. I had 2 recommendations from school and 1 from work (I work at a hospital in Admitting). Any advice?

This thread has not been alive for some time - it is for applicants for Fall 2010 so I don't think you will get many, if any responses. Try another one or start one yourself. Best of luck.

This really gives me hope into being accepted to the program now. If you dont mind could you please message me (I'm new the site so I cant send out pms) because I have a few questions that I would like to ask you since its appears that we started out the same in our undergrad studies and perhaps you can give me some pointers in what I should do to make myself stand out. Thanks in advance.
