  1. the waitlisters usually get in... I've heard that too
  2. Nevermind, on this topic, I will not reply anymore, but thank you for the points and replies. Thought it was funny how some still counldn't resist adding that they've traveled the world & have have other degrees, but nevermind that
  3. like mother_matters said, it goes both ways, but I just prefer to not be surrounded by older students again... but that is only my opinion.
  4. As usual you've missed my point.... I am happy that you have 'experienced' life and done many things, finance, the military, etc.... AWESOME... does that make you better... not always.... does it make you a better nurse.... sometimes not.... rarely does an older person want to hear what the 'younger' generation has to say. The best lab partner I ever had was a 32 year old working Mom, no she wasn't an ex-gun trigger puller, BUT she did have a previous degree and job. However, she didn't throw it in my face all the time or remind me constantly that she was older and had experienced life and had other degrees and other careers. Just a thought. Would it make me a better person to quit pursing nursing.... and major in something else and then be a nurse? I am sorry that the girls thought you'd be shaky with your hands. I've also done that lab, and my older lab partners for that class refused to do it because they didn't want to...they actually watched me and Kayla do all the labs.... so congratulations for having confidence that your hands would work out... too bad I couldn't have experienced you for that lab....
  5. since I'm 19 getting ready for 20... yes I do think 26 is in an older group and well I get talked down a lot by nurses who have backgrounds in other areas... such as education, finance, art... like I have no idea what the real world is like. I work 60 hours a week have my own insurance; rent out my own apartment, but somehow having a family makes you more mature and sometimes I don't agree with that mentality on the nursing floor and I've grown tired of the 25+ range of adults who shove it in our faces that they have 'experience'...more like experience in 'stuff doesn't work out always'... well of course... well congratulations and they tend to have memory loss because they seem to repeat themselves over and over that they have other degrees and nursing is a 'quick fix' to their boring lives.... I doubt getting a nursing degree will fix that... only they can do that. Sorry that is my experience with the older groups.
  6. I'm coming from the loch raven area so I'm way closer to Towson if that helps.... commute and atmosphere and UMB is well just taking too long to make up their minds...
  7. I got into Towson too and that's where I'm going since I was able to corner some UMB nursing students and discovered that the age group for the UMB is MUCH older... Towson is in my age range 21-26 years old and not 26-30+ like it is for the BSN at UMB.... it was explained to me that Towson has a much closer group of BSN students since they are just doing college and not family, kids, other small jobs like they are at UMB.... so that's why I chose the more college student friendly environment...I don't have a husband at home and well I'm young so I wanted a camraderie (prob. spelled that wrong & other stuff)
  8. Baltimore Campus here! I wonder when we will find out though :)
  9. how do they calculate your overall gpa? is it only in the 59 needed pre-reqs that is your 'overall gpa'? or is it every college class you have ever taken? sorry, i understand what the science gpa is... its ap1, ap2, chem, micro and maybe stats too? but what does overall gpa mean. overal gpa for prereqs or overall gpa from college ever? or the gpa that can be calculated by adding up what is on the pre req fill-in page for the mail in application part....thanks!
  10. Thank you so much for the reply!!! I hope all is going well for you and not too much stress
