Hi all soon to be fellow classmates! I just wanted to start this thread up so we didn't have to go weaving through all of the older stuff on the old threads.

I am really excited about starting school come January, really nervous though too. I have a lot to get done between now and then and sometimes I just don't think there is enough time in the day. Oh well, I plan on enjoying the holidays and working my buns off to save some money so that isn't an additional stressor during the first semester.

So lets post our questions, our thoughts and hopefully just get to know one another! And again....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I get anxious when I don't have my books for the first week of classes. But, Kathie from SG campus did say we should wait till the professors tell us which books we do need. I did hear that pathopharm is all from lecture slides, so no books needed.

I was wondering if anyone know if SG campus are live professors or recordings from Baltimore campus. I'm debating if I should buy a netbook for classes. I guess I can ask Kathie directly, but I feel like I asked her a lot of questions already.

Regarding the medical form, if people noticed two lines/results for PPD. We do need two PPD tests done, within 1-2 weeks from the 1st one. I have to go back for another :o

yeah you need 2 ppd tests. luckily i got one in the summer! at least they dont hurt to bad, its the flu shot you have to worry about!

is it 2 TB as well?

is it 2 TB as well?

that is the tb test

thanks lunaedon!

has anyone had their FAFSA award amount posted yet on SURFS? I haven't- just wondering if anyone else has or hasn't, etc. thanks

I would find a used pathopharm book (the previous edition would probably work as well) -- maybe buddy up with another person and buy it together as an alternative. You will have to look up things from time to time that won't be clear from the slides.

Make sure that you buy a 304 book with My Nursing Lab packaged with it; otherwise it will cost you $75 to buy it separately. Some students will tell you that you don't need it -- I disagree. Each chapter has tests that point out weak areas for you to review in the text. It also has videos that will help you with 304 and later on in adult health (330).

yeah my friend told me to get the my nursing lab. can that be bought on amazon separately? or can it only be bought at the school as a bundle. I saw a my nursing lab on amazon but dont know if its up to date

i just checked the bookstore. which one has the my nursing lab

1 kozier book is 115 with a cd and another is $215 special package. what does each have

Compare the descriptions & ISBN codes from the bookstore to Amazon. Amazon does sell the "complete" package and it is less money. That package may contain a workbook - the workbook is worthless in my opinion - the questions are the same that are in the text and my nursing lab, so figure out how to get the best price for a text and my nursing lab and go from there.

sorry didn't mention it before. mynursinglab.com is a place where you can buy it separately. it's an access code - there is no cd if I remember right.

ok i have a quick question.....do we have to register for the communications model thats under 304 as well? i didnt but i just wanted to make sure. thanks guys!

I have a question about scrubs and lab coats... is it true that the quality of lab coats and scrubs they sell in the bookstore is low quality material? would I be better off to separately purchase my white scrub tops and lab coats and sew on the patches myself? if anyone who's already a student or has bought these uniforms (and not really happy with their purchases) please let me know any tips or thoughts. thank you so much!
