Hi all soon to be fellow classmates! I just wanted to start this thread up so we didn't have to go weaving through all of the older stuff on the old threads.
I am really excited about starting school come January, really nervous though too. I have a lot to get done between now and then and sometimes I just don't think there is enough time in the day. Oh well, I plan on enjoying the holidays and working my buns off to save some money so that isn't an additional stressor during the first semester.
So lets post our questions, our thoughts and hopefully just get to know one another! And again....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I would find a used pathopharm book (the previous edition would probably work as well) -- maybe buddy up with another person and buy it together as an alternative. You will have to look up things from time to time that won't be clear from the slides.
Make sure that you buy a 304 book with My Nursing Lab packaged with it; otherwise it will cost you $75 to buy it separately. Some students will tell you that you don't need it -- I disagree. Each chapter has tests that point out weak areas for you to review in the text. It also has videos that will help you with 304 and later on in adult health (330).

yeah my friend told me to get the my nursing lab. can that be bought on amazon separately? or can it only be bought at the school as a bundle. I saw a my nursing lab on amazon but dont know if its up to date
i just checked the bookstore. which one has the my nursing lab
1 kozier book is 115 with a cd and another is $215 special package. what does each have
Compare the descriptions & ISBN codes from the bookstore to Amazon. Amazon does sell the "complete" package and it is less money. That package may contain a workbook - the workbook is worthless in my opinion - the questions are the same that are in the text and my nursing lab, so figure out how to get the best price for a text and my nursing lab and go from there.
I have a question about scrubs and lab coats... is it true that the quality of lab coats and scrubs they sell in the bookstore is low quality material? would I be better off to separately purchase my white scrub tops and lab coats and sew on the patches myself? if anyone who's already a student or has bought these uniforms (and not really happy with their purchases) please let me know any tips or thoughts. thank you so much!
