UMSON CNL Applicants for Spring 2015

U.S.A. Maryland

Hi All!

Starting a thread for CNL Applicants for Spring 2015! I'm very new to this website but looking forward to giving and receiving support though the application process. I've submitted my application already, pretty early I know, so I may not hear anything from them in for a while!

My undergrad degree was Biology from Towson, anyone else with similar background?

B.

My undergrad was from towson and I'm starting the CNL program on 9/2 :)

After struggling for many years to go back school for nursing, I finally started working on my prerequisites this summer. I'm very interested in the NCL program at umson. I'm kind of worried about my undergrad gpa which is a 2.9 (BS in Rehabilitation Services) but I also have a graduate gpa of 3.6 (MS Human Service Administration). I'm currently taking a stat course which I have an A in the class now, I have a B in chem and I'm registered for A&P I and Nutrition for the fall. I will have all of the prerequisites completed by Dec 2014 with the exclusions of A&P II and micro. I would like to apply for the Fall 2015 year, which I havent seen a deadline yet for that starting semester. Any suggestions or thoughts on the NCL program?

Just to clarify, it's 'CNL'.

I think they look at your undergrad gpa, but I think they look more at your prerequisite course work. Also, since you have a much higher graduate gpa, I wouldn't be too worried. I think the deadline to apply for fall admission is typically around the beginning of the year - but you can apply with outstanding prereqs, as long as you submit your grades when you receive them. If you're worried about not being a competitive applicant, I'd suggest applying for a spring semester entrance - typically, spring admission cycles are less competitive everywhere, because they are usually less popular/fewer people apply.

School hasn't started yet, but for now, I'm working a lot of med-calc problems and pre-reading pharmacology. I expect to take a crack at pathophys in the next couple days also.

Congrats on getting into the program! I hope to hear from them soon as my application is "committee ready" =]

My application says "committee ready" also. I am a little nervous. Would like to start in the Spring, not sure how many applicants they take.

Looks like interviews are this week/beginning of next week. Good luck everyone =]

Oh how exciting for you guys!! I think they accepted between 50-60 students for our cohort.. Assuming not everyone takes the offer, I'd guess they probably send out a few more last minute acceptances. Hope to see some of you on campus soon!

try not to stress - and start brushing up on A&P as well as dimensional analysis for med calc. Good luck everyone!

Hello everyone I am new to the thread and was previously on the BSN UMSON all nurses link until I found this one.

I received my invite for interview for the CNL program.

Please anyone knows what the expectations for the interview are? I am hopefully interviewing next week Monday. Day undecided yet

@fffnpsp15 good luck on the interview! I had mine the other day, I think the best thing for you to do is review with yourself before hand what you want to get across during the interview, if you go in there knowing what to say you'll be better prepared! Everyone I met with was pleasant & seemed happy to help.

Hi Everyone,

I am joining this thread as I applied to the CNL program for Spring 2015.

Are the interviews a required part of the admissions process? I haven't heard anything about the interview yet and am getting worried!
