Tell me your GPA. Just wanna compare

I was wondering what the GPA of the average student applying to an accelerated program is. Mine is 3.6. Is this good? Do you think I am in a good position for being accepted? Do you guys thinks being a male helps in getting accepted? I was just wondering as there are so few male nurses out there. Just looking to see what my chances are. By the way, I am applying to NYU's accelerated program, so if there are any guys out there who are doing the same or have gone through their program I would really like to hear from you...

Thanks everyone!

In college 3.2, currently in nursing school 2.6.
One C in a 10 credit class really plays havoc on a GPA.

Did you call the admission board of NYU?

I called UMDNJ and Seaton hall,(the two ABN programs i applied to an got rejected from) they both said anyone with 3.5 and lower were not considered.

This is someone on the other end of the phone, so i can't confirm how legit this is, but it does not hurt to call the admission dept and speak to someone for better information.
The size of the classes and the aplicants made the seats highly competitive. I was told that 400 people applied for 40 seats at UMDNJ. Again i don't want to spread misinformation, however this was the voice on the other end of the phone was telling me.

Best of luck.

I had a 3.0 as an undergrad and a 3.5 as a grad. Did good on the GRE, applied to two direct-entry MSNs, got rejected by the more competitive one and accepted by the less competitive one.

Not sure if that helps.

I went through an accelerated LPN-RN program you should do fine in the program as long as you are willing to do the studying and leave the partying behind until you are finished. Being male can help but some times does not. I had a great LPN program who loved the male students but the RN program was totally different.

I guess I will play. I am in my first year, ending my second semester with just a year left to go. To date, I have a little over 70 credits and a GPA of 3.9. But, this is due to a C that I got in college when I was 18 (I am 31 now). As far as nursing class go, including pre-reqs I have never recieved less than an A in any class. I just literally finished my 1st Med/Surge class yesterday. I ended up with a 95% in the class, but I was really worried. It was hands down the hardest class I have ever taken. So hard in fact, that only about 60% of my class passed the course and out of about 150 students, only about 10 or so got A's. I'd like to say that I am proud of my grade, but the cost was pretty high. I ended up studying over 40 hours some weeks and I am losing my job next week due to the scheduling at school.
