Hi all, It is seen that there are several styles and colors of scrubs available. For you experienced students and nurses, are there any little features that you like to see in your scrubs? I dunno, say real belt loops instead... Read More

You'll have to wear what they want you to thru school. i don't like the regular scrubs so cargo pants with lots of pockets would be my choice.

Dear lord, that's exactly what the profession needs.
A bunch of nurses running around in fanny packs.

Just do what I do. Debit card/cash in your bra, lip gloss in one pocket, phone and keys in the other pocket. Simple!
The fanny pack could work. Just think of all the stuff I could keep in it, tape, alcohol swabs, saline flushes, keys, wallet, and if I get the big one a pack of cheese crackers and a Mt. Dew.

Besides, I prefer not to keep cash/card in bra. May get some unwanted advances since I am a heterosexual male.

You laugh, but I endure my mother's fanny pack at least once a year on family vacations, and she always brings an extra for me. Too much time is spent arguing over why I refuse to wear one.

And if you don't want to wear a bra, no problem. Just keep the debit card in a pocket with your lip gloss.

Our school GAVE us a fanny pack to use! We all about died laughing. We took them the first night of clinicals because we thought we had to. Every single one wound up staying in the break room.

Our uniforms were chosen by our school. There was little flexibility as to what you could wear. Once I graduated, my favorite scrubs are Cherokees. I like the flare bottom pants and the v-neck shirts. Great styles, nice fit, they hold their color and shape well. And I LOVE having the 5 pockets on the scrub tops. I have a few pair of cargo style pants but I rarely put anything in the pants pockets. I don't like how it makes my pants feel weighed down.

We have to wear a white scrub top and draw string white pants that are slightly bell bottomed high waters that cannot touch the floor. With big blue patches. On sleeves. Very nursy.lol

I don't know if you are able to choose the brand for your nursing school uniform but I would recommend Aviator scrubs. They are a little more pricey than other brands but they are high quality. The pants have a lot of pockets and are basically like cargo pants so I have no problem fitting pens, trauma shears, and my stethoscope. They have side pockets and a back pocket like normal pants and instead of drawstrings there is a built in belt with a buckle so you can tighten and loosen with ease. I work as an ER tech and they hold up well after time.

Landau has a men's scrub collection that includes pants with belt loops and a zippered fly. They don't have quite as many pockets as the aviators, but it's enough for me.

Our uniforms for school are dictated down to our underpants, so there's not much room for preference there.

And I'm college and house poor. My work uniform is normally purchased at Goodwill or other consignment shop.

I think I have to buy a standard set of scrubs for my school. I will find out in next week haha. I like the scrub pants with cargo pockets though so I hope I can wear some of those.
