Hey guys!

Anyone found a good pair of mens nursing shoes?

I've heard the antishoe is nice and comfortable but just wondering if anyone had suggestions?

Thanks!

the most comfortable (and expensive) shoes that i wear for work are z-coils. i know some other guys here at the hospital that wear them as well. you can check out their different styles at www.zcoil.com. i would highly recommended them. i have had the pair i use for over 3 years now, and they are still in good shape.

Before I applied to nursing school I worked as a tech at a pharmacy and I use to stand ALOT! I really liked these. They are called Troentorp Bastad Clogs, i purchased mine on ebay, form somone by the name of Scandigirl. Retail wise they are pretty pricy. They are made of alder wood and you have to give it a month or so to break them in. Great shoes.

I like Bastad clogs, too. They are the best shoes I've found. I prefer them over Z-Coils. It took me a month to break them in, which worried me at first. --I was about to give up on them when I realized how comfortable they'd become.

I just bought a pair of Dansko Sawyers. Highly recommended by the uniform store where I bought them. They are slip-ons and come with arch support that is removable if you want to use your own. So far, so good.

I'm still using K-Swiss white sneakers. I tried Danskos and they almost made me cry.

I've enjoyed my Merrell Encore Moc Pro!

Adidas Superstars with a good insert... Sexy and comfortable!:smokin:

I went through several pairs of so called "nursing shoes" before I learned a better way. What I needed was a pair of shoes I could use while standing on my feet for hours or walking for long periods of time. On my days off I like to go for short day hikes (6 miles of less usually) so I just started wearing my day hike shoes as nursing shoes and my feet and back quit aching almost instantly.

I learned that just because someone labels their shoes as nursing shoes doesnt mean they have a special shoe that works better. They are just using a marketing strategy with nurses as the target audience. I currently wear a pair of low top Lowa brand shoes. They cost about $100 and I replace the insoles every couple of months. They have the outdoor sole but the color is low key so they look OK with my scrubs. Several other guys at work have started wearing similiar shoes. A good shoe is a good shoe whether it is a "nursing shoe" or not.

Personally I go to the gym and love my tennis shoes they are Nike Shox work well for running and higher impact stuff so they too are great for standing all day. For a bit dressier feel I wear my Dr. Marten boots very comfortable too.:twocents:
