Specializes in Gerontology, Med surg, Home Health.

So I've been a nurse since 1982 (yikes!) and have been a director for the past 10 years.

What do all you directors make?

I started out years ago making 78k and have made more with every job. I'm now looking for a new job and am having a hard time with the 'how much do you want to make' question.

I was very well paid at my last job....I get that, but I don't think 100k is too much to ask.

I was making 130K at my last job. South Coast of Massachusetts...NOT Cape Cod.

This will be interstesting to see if anyone responds. Ohio valley area/ Western PA...50 beds, DONwas making 85,000 ish.

Specializes in Long term care.

I think small facility DONs in Iowa and Minnesota are making 65-70000.

Specializes in LTC, Hospice, Case Management.

Last DON job 3 years ago, made $85,000 in Indiana. Currently working interim DON with pay of $45/HR. (Loving the hourly pay too). You've always made significantly more in your section of the country so I would expect $100,000 to be reasonable for you.

I an discussing salary right now with a place in Portland, OR. They offered me 65K.....Yikes.

Specializes in Geriatrics, WCC.

Metro of the Twin Cities in MN, smaller buildings around 70K and up to 120K for the largest buildings with 200-300 beds.

90k in ohio... I wouldn't take a dime less

What is the census?

I was the DON at a 75 bed SNF/LTC in TN. We are not for profit. I was making $84k. I resigned on good terms and 2.5 years later have been asked to return. They have built Green Houses and when complete will have 100 residents in 9 homes. Would I be wrong to ask for 100k?
