What is the differnce between LVN to RN track and LVN bridge?

I have seen both of these programs offered at different colleges , does anyone know what the difference is? I have heard of the LVN to RN bridge but not LVN to RN track.

Different terms for the same thing. As long as the program is going to prepare/qualify you for RN licensure, it doesn't matter what it's called. :)

that does make sense, I was thinking maybe the LVN to RN track you had to have more experience in the field. In the hair world when I got my Cosmetology Instructor license I could do a fast track program because I had worked over 5 years as a stylist, so the program wasn't as long. Thats what I get for compairing hairstylist to nursing LOL...thank you for the responses!!:up:

I just finished my CMA program and I take my cert test Fri and I graduate the same day, yeah school didn't plan that one well. I already have phleb cert. woo hoo!! Kicking myself in the butt for not doing RN instead. I didn't know how much I would love the medical field!!! thinking about doing LVN then bridge to RN cuz I don't want to go to school forever!! LOL like most women when i want somethin i want it NOW ( and i'm not gettin any younger)

I was thinking about Weatherford college. (i'm in FTW, TX) I have cked out the college on BON website. ( thanks to allnurses I have learned ALOT from everyone on here)

any advice for me ...anyone??? :D

I would suggest you talk to all the nursing programs in your area -- RN as well as LPN, and see what they have to offer you. If you "don't want to be in school forever" (and there's nothing wrong with that! :)), you may find it's just as quick to go straight into an RN program, rather than doing an LPN program first. Might be cheaper, too, depending on the school(s). It never hurts to ask ...

The LVN-to-RN bridge, the LVN-to-RN track, LPN-to-RN completer programs, and LVN-to-RN transition programs are all various terms that are used to describe the exact same type of schooling. In all cases, the educational preparation is designed for the LPN/LVN to attain RN licensure after having earned an associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing.

thank you for the reply, Is that what you are doing to get your RN-ADN?

Has being a LVN helped you as far as having the experience/college before going for RN? Some people say don't waste your time just go for RN . whats your opinion?

See if you can find a job as a CNA in a hospital that has earn as you learn program. Some hospitals offer training programs to CNAs who want to become RNs.

I went for LPN first because I had no medical experience, I wanted to be sure I'd like medical. Turns out I love nursing. I start the LPN-RN bridge in May.

I am so glad to see this thread, I just started one with almost the same question somewhere else. Our college info has wording like "LPN to RN ladder program" and "LPN to ADN transition courses" and I was wondering what the difference was, or are "RN" and "ADN" interchangeable?

How long is your LPN-RN bridge program? Yeah I have checked out some of the hospitals in my area, seems theres not alot of info. maybe i'm researching it wrong.
