  1. Hey everyone, I have enjoyed Micro more that I thought I would. It hasn't been as bad as I expected! I have my first final next week so we'll see how it goes.I might have a change of heart LOL what did you guys find to be the hardest on your final / test?
  2. @ happified so was micro that hard? i'm already stressed about micro!! i also start aug 30 @ tcc. @ ganellt i am using the same book microbiology, 7th ed. by black , i found the 6th ed. on craigslist for $60, so you might check cl out. "here's to all of us passing this class with flying colors! " thats awesome ;thats the attitude we need :) tks ganellt
  3. studentnurseCT, Oh no , Have you looked on the school directory on the school Website to find your Professor, should have # and e-mail posted on something.
  4. caliotter3, thank you for the advice. it makes sense not to re-take them unless i have a c . i just have to try harder in the up comming classes. that also makes me nervous b/c you'd think if i made a b in the easier classes how am i going to make a' in the sciences?? i shouldn't think like that! i will do what it takes to make those grades. anything is possible when you put your mind to it right? --- my own little encouragment speech lol:d
  5. thank you jackiebrcc, you made me feel better i was stressing out alittle. i know i should be proud of those b's but i was just afraid that is wasn't good enough. "must make an a " is already programed in my head. i'd rather re-take the class now then wait til i apply and have them tell me to re-take them. lol at least know all that info is fresh in my mind lol. i was reading all the different post on here about the grades..ect.. grades are points and you need so many points...ect.. i just kept reading and kept stressing out .
  6. hi everyone, i need some advice please ok i've been looking at some of the posts on here about grades.i'm worried about mine. should i retake these classes? i am going to tcc (tarrant county community) the counslers are not alot of help and i have looked at the website and it basically says that you can get in to ns if you have a c averg but we all know that to get in it takes "a" 's . (i know that the a&p's and micro and chem an a is a must; i am taking these in the fall, spring, and summer ) eng i -b ( had an a till the day before my final) intro to psych- b life span- a (i have an a now with 2 weeks of school left) *i'm going to keep that a if it kills me am i doomed already?
  7. Hi, I also debated on the LVN or RN route. The LVN school in Weatherford was shorter than RN that was also my idea to LVN ; work as LVN then bridge to RN .( I have heard that the bridge test is very hard!! ) Most of the research I found LVN's are being phased out, some CMA's are even doing LVN jobs b/c they can pay the CMA less. RN's of course get payed more and you have more options. I am doing my pre-req now for nursing school (RN) I would say in the long run it would be better to do the RN and get it done, b/c like you I also have children and with the hours of a LVN maybe harder to work and get back in school again and balance family. Just do some research on jobs available for LVN vs RN, pay scale for LVN vs RN ...ect... then make your choice. good luck to you:)
  8. hi i'm taking micro in the fall @ tcc i'm nervous and excited !!! my book is microbiology priciples and exploration by jacquelyn black i found mine on craiglist for $45. mama2fiveboys i am also taking a&p 1 in the spring maybe we can help each other out :)
  9. ges91 yeah when i take a&p i am taking it by itself, i have heard how hard it can be. i will start looking over ph in chem and the periodic able of elements thanks for the advice
  10. elle71 thanks for the advice i guess that one of the things i'm worried about having enough time to study both classes.
  11. mariposabella what school are you going to? i am very nervous too about taking 2 science classes.i just don't want to be "lost" in the class.
  12. hello i am also a phlebotomist. what's going on?
  13. thatsthekey people on here have said that micro, chem and a&p are linked together in a sense. so that was my plan to take those 2 together then a&p by itself. i'm trying to get everything knocked out so i can apply in aug. to ns. i just don't want to in get in over my head. that pressure is there to make that a to get into ns. "a&p ii, micro, medical terminology, and public speaking together " wow just looking at that stresses me out. thats awesome you did all that and made good grades. thank you for the advice!
  14. oklahomagal i wanted you to know i did listen to what you said about not recommending in a 5 week course.:) i am taking a&p i in spring by itself and i do not want to move micro w/ a&p. i do not want to take another class w a&p. and i do not want to take a&p in the summer ( i know better than that). i just know how important the gpa are in these classes.
  15. I need advice IDK what to do LoL I was thinking about changing my fall sched. taking Chem by itself b/c of the algebra involved afraid it will take me longer to catch on and the Micro in Winter term....I know winter term will be hard b/c its short but that way it splits it up so I'm taking one class at a time so I can focus on that subject to make that A ( that I MuSt HAVE)..or would ya'll suggest I keep it the way it is and take BOTH at the same time but for 14 weeks at a slower pace???? FYI: I have two kids 7 and 8 and I do not work. It was 16 years ( showing my age here) ago when I took my last science class.
