Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

After telling somebody that I was excited to be getting my lpn school uniform, I was told that LPN meant Little Pretend Nurse. :( this made me sad, I have worked Very hard to get where I am, I have taken ALL of my prerequisites for the RN program as well but I have chosen this path. Didn't make for a great day

The next time someone makes a comment like that to you, look them square in the eye and say "Why on earth would you say something so rude to me?"

(After the person wanders off in embarrassment, feel free to laugh. I've yet to come across anyone wo can handle being challenged so directly.)

  Did you ever think to ask the PA, why be a physicans assistant and not the physican? Remember, people like that need to belittle others to make themselves feel better about their insecurities. Chin up!!

Please dont let anyone bring you down. I am a lpn working very hard for my rn -but if i had to do it all over again I would still be an lpn first and honestly I think my rn has been a little easier. We are all nurses and have the same goal to provide excellent care

Comments like that irritate the crap out of me. I'm starting my PN program in August and everyone is already asking me why in the world would you go to PN school, I thought that you wanted to be a RN. It drives me crazy!

I do want to be a RN and plan to do the bridge program once I pass the NCLEX, but right now LPN is the right path for ME!

well this LPN proudly has performed CPR, to save a life.. isn't that what it is all about? Not a title. I'm few credits away from having my RN but I love what I do.. so that is what counts

After much thought, I have decided to close this thread, as I believe it is already discussed thouroughly.
