Hi guys! I am taking the entrance exam for the LPN program at ES BOCES in 11 days. I have been studying a lot but I'm still really nervous about the math section. Can anyone give me some examples of what types of questions will be on the test? I am mostly worried about the word problems. I'm really wondering about the difficulty level. Thanks for the help!!!

Just wondering because these are from a practice teas test and they are a bit out of my league. :-/

Congratulations! Don't sweat the interview, it's quick and painless (well at least mine was). Wear something nice and don't have your hair in your face. Make sure you have all of your paper work with you, they will check it off one by one. They ask you a few real life ethical questions and then they will tell you if you qualified for day time or night time. If your scores are high enough, they will offer you day time first if you want it. Then they'll send you down to financial aid.

Thank you, thank you, thank you =) Ahhh, quick & painless sounds wonderful! I just hope I don't either end up over answering or not answering enough. I also hope that my "blunt" honesty can try & contain itself. Haha I've been told it's a really good trait to have, but sometimes I swear it's more trouble then it's worth. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it, I hope the person that interviews me appreciates honesty...brutal, "did she really just admit that/say that?" kind of honesty.

For instance if she asked me a question that has to do with seeing someone cheat, I wont be able to just leave it at a simple "I tell the teacher" my blabber mouth will explain that while cheating can be easier in the short run, it will destroy you in the long run. Then I will probably go on to explain that my brain can't possibly conceive why someone would go through the trouble of cheating in the first place(most likely w/ a truly puzzled look on my face, because my face is an open book...arg!) Then (yea, it gets worse) I will continue & explain "I don't understand why someone who wants to be a nurse, wants to kill patients" (at this point I'm sure the TEACHER will be the one with the puzzled look on there face.) Then (because I can't shut my yap) I will continue to "explain" that "in my eyes, if you cheat it's the equivalent of killing a pt because your not actually studying, retaining and applying the information & tools you have been given , your stealing it from someone else. So while that person may have the tools to potentially save someone's life one day, the cheater never will." I'm sure the teacher will look at me like a maniac after that long winded & very blunt response lol

I really hope I'm asked extremely basic questions (for my sake & theirs.) Just in case I'm gonna have my boyfriend "interview" me with a timer (& maybe a jolting shocking device of some sort.)

In all honesty (I can't help it) I'm soooo extremely nervous about the possibility of being accepted into Day Program (my teas scores weren't all that great, especially due to the chunk of the math section left out,I mean I'm still grateful I passed but the "perfectionist" in me can't help but worry). Also I just simply can't do nights, I would if I could =( & I don't want to apply to another school, I've wanted this one for awhile now.

Thank you SO much again for the advice on the interview, I will definitely be listening to it =)

So, How was it???

It was fine, I PASSED!!!! Now I am waiting for my interview and then the real wait begins!

How was the test!? Easier than you thought? How was the math portion? Was there geometry?

aww yay heather

It's weird I called to ask them a question about the paper work and they said that I didn't need any on the initial interview... =( I wonder what that means, I'm kind of nervous.

Oh loveoverpride. I passed the entrance exam as well scored the top scores! Thanks for the advice. It was really easy, stressing out for nothing!

Now I have the prelvn class next Wednesday. Which has a few test and a interview.

Since I took the entrance test so late I'm forced to learn the school policy's and learn the 12 body systems in 11 days:dead:

I plan on wearing my suit, do my hair and hopefully that'll score me some points.

Maybe they changed it, they used to send you a letter with all of the paper work you need, 3 references, proof of ins, birth certificate etc. maybe they wait now. Well good luck!

Yea They sent me a paper, ( but it said h.s diploma, sealed copy of my high school transcript) but when I called to ask a question about it , she said I didn't need any of it on the first interview. Which of course turned me into such a nervous nelly, because I'm sitting here thinking the worst haha but I've been better at calming myself the last few days. Thanks again for all your help =)

Oh ok, maybe because you have plenty of time before the program starts to get all of that stuff. I remember when I did it, I was the last group of testing and interviews, I think it was the middle of June, so they wanted all the paper work ASAP. You will probably need 3 reference letters obviously from people not related to you.

Thank you soooo much! You have been so helpful =) I really appreciate it. Thank you, thank you , thank you. =)

Loveoverpride did you get in?

I just received my acceptance letter today! I was in shock, but extremely happy after the shock phase was over! I hope you did well!
