And you are so right about being more focused and interested because it's nursing, I feel the same way. I think I will be a lot more foucsed an interested because I know it is nursing and soon I will be a nurse plus the medical field has always interested me!!! And yes your post was very helpful and I really and truly appreciate it, thanks!!! your post was not too long, your post gave me tips that I will use and I know will help me get through nursing school and if you ever need help or advice just PM me or post it here ok!!! Kepp me posted ok!!!
you're welcome Missy. It's no problem. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. All of the study tips that I mentioned I follow. Maybe that is why I'm so good at nursing. I am always trying to learn the next thing or throughly understand what I am learning. Don't get me wrong, it's not always a piece of cake, but I do what ever I have to do to make it though. So are you ready for your math class? You said it starts in January right? Well, I wish you luck. Try as much as you can to do the math on pencil and paper and not by calculator becuase I've heard that on the NCLEX-PN, they don't allow you to use a calc, which would make sense. But it's kinda scary though. I also start learning my basic math in my Nursing class. Well, if I have any questions I'll b sure to PM or post here. Take care and I'll ttyl. Keep me posted. ok?

Thanks so much!!! I will definitle use pencil and paper to do my math classes plus even thought it is online my insttructors will definitley want me to show the work and if I try to use just a calculator they will know it, I want to know how to do the math by hand plus as you said the NCLEX-PN will not let you use one and ifI become to dependent on one I will not pass the NCLEX-PN test. I start January 20th-basic math and a Human administrator class and then after those two classes it's Alegebra 1A and another Human administrator class and after those two classes it's Alegebra 1B and another Human admministrator class, so it's three straight months of math:stdy:!!! I am so nervous and stressed!!! I have seen what I am going to be learning and I am freaking out I have not had a math class in over 10 years!!! Hey you should check out the new smilies they have here, you hit the smilie on the message box and they have a whole bunch of new ones and they are so cute!!! Keep me posted ok:an!:nbch: Can't wait till May!!!

wel, Missy I wish you good luck in your three math classes. you are freaking out over three months of math; try taking it for three yrs! I know that in college, as opposed to high school, things go very fast and you're learning everything in a matter of 4 months than a yr. Don't be soo stressed out about the math. The more you worry about it the stressful you will become. Just take it one day at a time and if you don't understand something, ask your instructor, your husband (is he good at math?),and u can always ask me. I may not be good, but I'm sure that I'll remember some of the math since I'm still in high school. and it's basic math and algebra 1 A and algebra 1B you're taking. Well's that is the easiest of math I would say. I understand that it will be scary but this is something you've go to do. If not your yourself, then for your pts that you will soon be taking care of. speaking of math, I'll be face to face with it on Tuesday becuase this weekend is the end of my winter break and I go back to school. Well, Missy I have to go now. Do take care and I'll ttyl. :lol_hitti your right these simlies r fun.... keep me posted.

Thanks, you are so right I need to take it one day at a time and when in doubt ask for help. My husband is really good at math plus my academic counselor told me to call her if I need help and to get tutoring if I need to becasue she told me that most of her students need tutoring and it's nothing to be ashamed of. And I totally agree with her so I will definitley take advantage of the tutoring my school offers, I have a local campus about 10min. from where I live so I will definitley be visiting my campus soon. I know math is scary but I am willing to do whatever it takes to become a nurse and to be able to be the best for my patients, I want to be a nurse so bad and I cannot wait until I am in nursing school and I can offically call myself a nursing student:tinkbll::cmptrgk::rckn:!!! And I will definitley ask you for help if you don't mind. Thanks for all of your support and great tips and advice. Keep me posted ok!!!

that's awsome that you have help only 10 minutes away from your home! utilize it and let it become your friend. hehehe! Plus, that 's even better that your husband is really good at math. No, I don't mind, if you ask for help anytime you need it. I'll be glad to help you in any way that I can. I know that you mean; it feels great to call yourself a nursing student and I bet even better when you become a nurse. Well keep me posted!

I have good news, Missy. Remember that I told you that I had taken a test called the ACT (a test you need to get into college now- a- days)? Well, I got my score today and I got a 20! the score ranges from 1-36. I'm really proud that all that studying paid off... now I'm gonna register to take it again so I can improve my score. wish me luck.

Hello Missy... Yes I hope for that too. Yes, one day we both will be able to finally call ourselves Nurses! That will be an excellent feeling indeed. Yes we will be able to conquer math. I'm actually working on some dosage calculations and they don't seem that hard. The only problem though it that I forgot how to divide decimals. u c, I'm trying not to do math with a calculator. It's kinda funny, I can convert perfectly, but when when I need to divide with decimals, I can't do that. I also can't believe that I forgot which number goes into the bracket! for example, 50/ 25. I know that the answer is 0.50. That that one is easy. Can u help me? thanx Well sorry for the long post and I'll ttyl...

50 goes into the bracket because when I divided 25 by 50 I came up with the answer of 0.50. I hate to admit it but I used a calculator right now to make sure I give you the correct answer ok, I hope this helps and if you need any more help just PM me or post it here ok and i will help.keep me posted ok!!!

thank you soo much.. I really appreciate it. so How r u doing Missy? I hope fine. It's okay, I've actually had to use a calculator also when 1st figuring out the problem. I've done that problem so many times with other meds that I just know the answer. Well, Today was my first day back in school and it was not bad at all. I have no HW except to study for mid terms and to do a project. I'm trying to copy and paste pictures and then put some writing above and below the pics. Microsoft Word doesn't lemme do that. every time I try to type something and then put it above the pic, it doesn't lemme do that... It's soo frustrating!!! any suggestions??? thank you and take care and keep me posted.
