The College Network For My Lpn To Rn??

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

i just graduated an LPN program not too long ago... and i would really like to get started with my RN while im still motivated.

has anyone done the college network RN program? i would like to give it a shot, but i dont know anyone who has done it, and dont want to throw away money. im really talking to "sales people" when i call them... so id rather just hear from REAL PEOPLE what the program is like...

or if there is another online program that is good, please let me know!

thanks! :)

PLEASE do some research in the forum. There are dozens of threads here and in Diatance Learning regarding TCN.

You do not need them. They are a publishing company only and notorious for costing a fortune and keeping you to the contract under all circumstances.

I am half way through the LPN to RN program from the college network, i find it to be difficult because i have to motivate myself and i tend to procrastinate some. I really miss the classroom interaction and professors pushing me. As far as the testing goes i find it to be more difficult because once you complete a lesson you get tested on the entire material as opposed to to traditional schooling where you have an idea of what to expect in the test. Sorry if i discouraged you, just keeping it real.

college network is not a college..they do not grant degree's ..they simply area a publishing company that offers expensive study guides.....head over to the distance learning forum for butt loads of threads on this subject...

Hi, I am currently enrolled in that program and have been since Jan. 2006. I chose the program because I do travel nursing and I have been able to study and test wherever I go.

But I still have 2 prerequisites and 6 nursing courses to go yet. They send you the study guides , you study them and anything else you can get and take the tests. I have been an LPN for 26yrs., so I think it will be much easier for you since you are a recent graduate and alot of the material is still fresh in your mind. I do think it is expensive, but right now I can't do it any other way, until I decide to quit traveling or finish this course. And I do plan to finish in 2009! I hope I was helpful to you.

Well, you don't need them to do Excelsior College, which is how I earned the RN.

But good luck to you!

The College Network is not an LPN-to-RN program. The College Network is nothing more than a publishing company engaged in the business of selling study materials that eventually lead to a nursing degree from either Excelsior College (formerly known as Regents) or Indiana State University. Therefore, Excelsior College or ISU are one of the 2 schools you're really dealing with.

Most people are able to earn their LPN-to-RN bridge program nursing degree from Excelsior College or ISU without ever going through expensive publishing companies such as the College Network and RUE. In addition, people have attempted to get out of the College Network's contract, and all were unsuccessful.

Buyer beware. . .

There are many threads and posts on the Distance Learning forum about the publishing companies and Excelsior. Have you read the warning that Excelsior College has placed on its website regarding publishing companies? I have passed every NC exam thus far without the aid of study materials from any of these companies. I recently bought some used study guides on ebay and am not impressed with them. Try buying a used guide or two on ebay and see how you do with them before you commit to the sales pitch. Otherwise, you most likely don't need the publishing companies any more than the rest of us. Good luck.
