Please recommend me the best LVN NCLEX review book

Nurses LPN/LVN

That's out there.

Our school uses the Orange Saunders one, but I spoke with alot of former students who just took the test and said that book didn't help them at all.

My question is, whats the go to book for reviewing for this test?

All help is appreciated.

When I took the NCLEX PN, I used several RN NCLEX prep books (I had these b/c I was in an RN program). I would recommend all the books listed by the other posters, but start with Saunders. I also recently had the opportunity to look at a copy of Kaplan and agree that it has some good pointers for strategy. So, invest in as many as you can get through, if that is what you want to do. They say that doing hundreds of questions is the way to go. Or you can follow Suzanne4's plan as outlined in her sticky. She recommends only using the Saunders text, and gives a plan for study. I've not seen anybody say that Suzanne's plan did not work for them. Good luck.

I just passed lpn boards last month with the min of 85 questions and I used Saunder's comphrensive review and Kaplan to me saunders was more like nclex. you have to know content not just strategies to answer the questions. Don't rely heavily on Kaplan alone. saunders was used by all of the students in my class of 20 and to date 16 have passed (1 failed, 3 yet to test) U won't regret using saunders just make sure to take advantage of the CD-Rom included. good luck i

I just passed and only used Exam Cram. I liked the CD

Know your meds and lab values

good luck

Prentice Hall puts out a book that was amazing. I can't remember the exact name of the book (I borrowed it), but it's obviously for the NCLEX. It is blue and white with a black border at the top. Each chapter goes over a specific topic and follows with 25 nclex style questions. Very easy to study from. The best about this book is that the cd has 5,000 questions and you can choose as narrow or as broad of a test as you want. You also can study, quiz or test all from the cd. I thought this book was way better than the one they had us purchase for school. As a matter of fact, my school will be using this book for this years class.

Thanks everyone for their help.

I guess I'll be using the Saunders through our school. I also went out and bout the Kaplan strategy book. Is there a KAPLAN book full of questions??? Borders didn't have any.

I'll probably go out and buy Lippencott and borrow my friend's Incredibly Made Easy......

Wish these books didn't cost soo much....

I'm using Saunders along with Suzzane4's plan, is going well so far! I have Kaplan strategies bk and even subscribed to thier online practice for $79. Overall, I think is a good review prep but I sometimes have problems with the answer choice which makes it confusing. I'm also using Saunder's Q&A, that is working well for me too. I just now added Exam Cram PN, a nurse at my job recommended it, she said she used it a year ago along with the NCSBN 3wk PN review and passed on her first attempt. She completed a RN program 2mths ago and also said she used Exam Cram RN & NCSBN RN review to prepare, again it worked for her. I guess everyone's differrent with what really works ... as for me... I'm just thinking of giving up on Kaplan... I think the last thing I want now is to be confused with strategies.

Good luck!
