I have a lot to give!!

Hello Everyone,

Today I take the ATI for the an LVN program that starts in Feb. I'm also register to take classes again this Winter quarter to keep working towards by BSN. I want to do the LVN program, but I will really lose focus of what my ULTIMATE goal is. I want that degree. I'm a single mother of eight children and need the degree to make a better living for my family (wish I would of thought about that before I got married and had children) It has been such a struggle raising a large family. I have for many years work many different jobs to keep my family afloat, but I just interview for a position that would help me out with my ULTIMATE goal. I interview for a PCA positon in oncology. My mother just died of cancer in July and I think this would be a great opportunity to help people with this disease. I have so much to give in the field of Nursing. Since being a mother of eight I learned how to appreciate everyday. I learned how to hold on to the moments even when times are tough. I know that I can share this with others. I hope and pray I get this position. I really need the work!! Please keep me in your prayers about this job and pray for me that I make good decisions. GOD BLESS to ALL

I really hope you get the job. Never let go of your dreams. It may take a while to get there but if you push hard enough you will get there. What a big family you have. I don't have any and I struggle with fertility problems. Cherish your kids daily. You are blessed.

I see nothing stopping you from getting that degree except you. If you became an LPN while attending school for the BSN, you would be able to apply some of the critical thinking into your current role, and make more money. You may be able to obtain a more flexible schedule such as weekends only (just an example). And, many facilities may actually boot the cost for the rest of your tuition towards your BSN. Good luck!
