Hey guys...I started the LSU Fall 2013 Thread and got wait listed ... haven't heard anything back from them except that all their spots are full. So I'm getting ready to apply for their spring semester. For the rest of the folks who got wait listed with me let's get to making things happen for spring! I welcome any advice or pointers. I also went through the whole interview process, if anyone has anything to share or any questions please don't hesitate to post.

Thanks for the info . I'm starting to get all of my health stuff done incase I get into the program!

Hello everyone! Had my interview today and I am a bit disappointed about how I did. Let me preface this by saying that I showed up for my interview which I had scheduled for 12 pm, but the lady at the desk said that they had me down for 10 am! She kind of cocked an eyebrow at me and said, " well...I guess we'll squeeze you in." Needless to say, I was completely flustered when they called my name. I told them what happened with the scheduling and they said they didn't even know what time people were supposed to show up so it wasn't an issue, but I still felt unsettled. Anyway, I just feel like I didn't answer their questions as well as I could have because I was nervous and kind of rambled and repeated myself on some of them. I feel like I let my nerves get the better of me! Did anybody else feel some nerves kicking in cause I sure did....ughhhh! Thanks for reading everyone, and best of luck to ya'll!

@ObieandTank Trust me, I felt the same way! After I left my interview I kept thinking of better things I could have said  I'm trying not to beat myself up over it, but this wait is going to kill me now. That's crazy about your time mix up! I can imagine that being even more nerve wracking

@ObieandTank Don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone gets nervous for interviews and it actually shows the interviewers that you want it bad. Even if you were nervous, you could have made an impression on your interviewers by how you answered the question, because you never know. Hindsight is always 20/20 and you will always feel that something could have gone better. The interview is worth only a certain percentage of your application. I remember sitting in the hot seat thinking I tanked on the interview, but here I am 3 years later getting ready to graduate. Good luck everyone and remain optimistic.

Awesome! Back in the dark ages I was rejected from LSU and accepted by Charity. Best rejection ever!

Does anyone know around when we find out whether or not we've been accepted? I heard it was late October/early November...is that true?

@Isabelle49 can you elaborate a little more on this? I am currently struggling with this issue. I recently got my acceptance letter from Charity... waiting on LSU. I hear that Charity is a better program in terms of practicing nursing LSU is more theory based. I currently have 2 degrees already (BS in psychology and BS in biology). I'm worried that not having my BSN will limit me for the first few years of being a nurse. I also don't want to have to worry about going back to school for another bachelors after I am done with an ASN if I choose Charity. A MSN or DNP program is my goal for my next go round after nursing. At this rate I'm just going with the flow. I'm kinda wishing I could just flip a coin and that will determine which one I go with. It's so frustrating. But I guess I'll just continue going with it and not obsess.

@Chin05 I struggled with this as well. I decided the best option for me was to go to Charity for my ASN and then immediately start a RN to BSN bridge when I finished. LSU's RN to BSN is short and you'll only attend class once a month I believe. Everything else is online. I don't think not having a BSN immediately will be a total disadvantage in getting a job. I can only speculate though. For me, I'd rather get working in 2 years and finish up my BSN online while I already have a job. It's a personal decision though. I have asked around to other nurses and there's a nice mix of ASN & BSN (as well as diploma) degree nurses working. At the end of the day they both have RN behind their names. I just need to get working asap and thinking of waiting 3 more years instead of 2 was just not an option for me. But it's obviously up to you. Just thought I'd share my train of thought.

@Chin05 there's always LSU's accelerated if you're feeling up to it! But you'll have to wait until the fall of 2014 to start that.

@Skillz nah... I want what little air I have. Accelerated wouldn't be a good idea for me I'm just a tad bit obsessive and might make clinically insane. I have thought about it a few times. I'm eager to start working as well. But I have a handful of friends who have completed ASN programs and are whining about going back to school and how much they should have just went for the BSN. But I plan on going a lot further with my education so as long as I have that in my head then getting my ASN shouldn't be that big of a deal. I have a few other factors going in the mix as well, for instance costs. I have enough saved to get me through the first year of LSU if I get accepted (school expenses not including living). I have enough to get me through both years if I decide to stick with Charity. No additional loans is def a blessing! I look at my pros and cons list every day. And thanks for the input def helps! Hopefully I'll see you next week at the advising sessions.

Has anyone heard anything about acceptances ?

I went to a meeting for UCAC and the adviser said we should hear back early November. He also said about 300 apply and 100 are accepted into the program each semester.
