Hey guys...I started the LSU Fall 2013 Thread and got wait listed ... haven't heard anything back from them except that all their spots are full. So I'm getting ready to apply for their spring semester. For the rest of the folks who got wait listed with me let's get to making things happen for spring! I welcome any advice or pointers. I also went through the whole interview process, if anyone has anything to share or any questions please don't hesitate to post.

I hope we hear back end of October. I hate rushing to get things done. I'm sure we will have to submit/gather a few things before the semester starts. Trying to get everything done in a month (which will probably be December) is gonna be rough because its the holiday season. But I'm already anxious and it hasn't even been a week. Got to get me some distractions going for the next few weeks.
Anyone who interviewed on Saturday, what did you say about the Obamavare question because I am doing a bunch of research and I can't figure out how it would relate to nursing other than that if everyone is getting healthcare it could make more people go to the doctors office instead of straight to the emergency room where people with low income often go now because they can't turn you down for not having insurance. I am just confused as to what they are looking for in there considering that is more of a political question. I know the ANA endorses Obamavare so they obviously want students to be for it but I don't understand how it will make improve nursing as a whole. Also today the house said they are defunding it so isn't it kind of a mute point now?

I honestly don't think it is a question that they are given to ask, I think my interviewer was just presenting a challenge. But my reply was - It is actually beneficial to nurses because I think it focuses on prevention. I think nurses are front line for prevention because we spend more time with the patients than doctors. Not only in the health care setting but in the community - went into some other details but that was the general idea of my answer. I honestly just pulled that one out of nowhere. I wouldn't worry too much. Good Luck!

I was asked pretty much the same thing. I hate the waiting part now. Hopefully it isn't too too long.
