U.S.A. Louisiana

hi im new to this site and im majorly worried about getting into my nursing program at charity school of nursing for the fall 2011 class. I been denied two previous times and this is my 3rd attempt at getting in. My gpa is a 3.0 and I scored a 78 on my teas. I know my scores arent that great but they are better then when i applied my first and second time. I was wondering if it matters any to be denied the 1st and 2nd try. Would i have a better chance if i kept on trying? or does it start fresh every semister youre applying? my profile score is at 50 right now. Can anyone tell me what to expect and also anyone that has been denied before tell me what they did different and also what their scores were?

Specializes in ICU, ED.

Apply you have nothing to loose

That is absolutely NOT true. I had a C in A&P I lecture and A in lab, B in A&P II lecture and A in lab, and I had a C in Eng 101, and I just got in on the first try. BUT I never withdrew, no D's or F's , etc... If you are applying for PN, you can't have C's for any A&P classes but not for RN. Don't know why. You would think it would be the other way around. People have no clue what they're talking about sometimes.

I am so confused....Do you need both ANP 1 AND 2 to apply, or just ANP 1 with the lab. Secondly, what is the difference between the CSN GPA and a regular GPA?

You only need the first A&P lecture and leb, but you get more points on your profile score if both of them are completed. The CSN gpa is the gpa of all of the prereq's that you have to apply for the csn program. The DCC gpa is the gpa that is calculated for classes that were ONLY taken at DCC. Then, your overall gpa is the gpa that is claculated for courses taken at ANY college that you have attended. Did you see a sample profile on the CSN website? It is under the Prospective Students tab, and then click on "Admission Requirements", then click on "Academic Assessment Form". You can figure out your own profile score. The cut-off for our class was a 75.
