hi im new to this site and im majorly worried about getting into my nursing program at charity school of nursing for the fall 2011 class. I been denied two previous times and this is my 3rd attempt at getting in. My gpa is a 3.0 and I scored a 78 on my teas. I know my scores arent that great but they are better then when i applied my first and second time. I was wondering if it matters any to be denied the 1st and 2nd try. Would i have a better chance if i kept on trying? or does it start fresh every semister youre applying? my profile score is at 50 right now. Can anyone tell me what to expect and also anyone that has been denied before tell me what they did different and also what their scores were?
Hello All,
I'm new to the site and so grateful there is a nursing forum (especially w/ info from CSN bounders).
I am currently on the respiratory care track at Delgado, but I also would like to apply for Charity School of nursing just in case I do not get into the respiratory care (they only accept about 15) I'm also a very caring person and I would love being a Nurse-RN if accepted.
When I looked for Nursing 101 classes at Delgado, I noticed there were only two (Intro to Nursing and Nursing Success) Both are full for the Spring semester. Is it required to take these before applying?
I have a few questions about the PRE-REQS a student needs before applying.
In another thread I saw the ladies mentioning nutrition being the reason they were denied, yet I did not see nutrition on the Nursing Bulletin/curriculum on Delgado's website. I've been searching for over an hour to no avail so please don't think i'm too lazy to search!
For relevant CSN courses, so far I have:
Is there anything else I have to take in the Spring of 2012 to be eligible to apply for the 2013 Spring deadline (May 15, 2012)? Any help would be very appreciated.
Hey RNNursing, the only courses you need are A&P I and II with the labs, Micro, Gen Psych, Fine Arts, Eng 101 & 102 and your College Algebra. Make sure you check the nursing bulletin again because I may be leaving something out. You also have to take the Hesi. Med Terminology isn't a requirement but may still be good to have so you would understand the medical language and that goes for the Nursing 101 class too. Nutrition is a prerequisite for the LPN program.
Hey everybody! I'm new and so glad I found this thread! Can somebody PLEASE clarify the difference between the HESI and TEAS tests?? And what exactly does your "profile score" consist of?? I'm finishing up my prereqs right now and hope to apply to Charity's program in the fall.
Thanks for any help!!

High hopes,
I just brought my paperwork to Charity last week for Fall '12. The head of admissions said they will go out in March. I have a 75 as well, but still nervous. I think last semester the cut-off was 55. I had an 85 on the HESI, and she said that was a good score so I know that yours is awesome.
