BRCC Nursing Applicants for Fall 2014

U.S.A. Louisiana

Published

Hey everyone! I just turned in my application for the Fall of 2014 a couple of days ago. I take the HESI in a little over a week! I am super nervous and full of anxiety, haha. I was just wondering what GPA everybody else is applying with and how many pre-reqs were taken at BRCC

I know this thread is from a year ago, but I am exactly where you guys where last year, right now. I have a 88% on the hesi, and I have a 4.0 on prerequisites, i took all of them at BRCC!! I am sooo nervous right now. I was reading the whole thread and I was like wow i feel exactly how they felt a year ago, right now. I am praying to God i get accepted. I am extremely nervous though. I wont find out until June. I was wondering if you guys could tell me how it is. Do you guys like going to BRCC nursing? Do you guys think i will get in with those scores? It seems like everyone I talk to, they got in the 90's on their hesi! Also if you guys could give me some pointers for the first year of nursing, if I do get accepted?? I have heard nursing school is extremely hard. Thank you so so much. I love BRCC and i would be honored to be able to attend their nursing program. I dont want to go to any other school. SO i am really counting on getting accepted!!

I know it been a while, but how's the prgm going for you? Likes, dislikes, etc.

I'm just finishing up my second semester (actually, I've got two finals left). I enjoy the program, but it is very challenging. The first semester, your only nursing course is Fundamentals. It covers a lot of basic, practical information and skills. More importantly, though, it teaches you to think critically and apply your knowledge to various situations; a big goal of the course is to teach you to start thinking like a nurse. This semester, I've taken Adult Nursing I (Med-surg) and Mental Health Nursing (and Microbiology, but that's outside of the nursing program). The volume of material is significantly greater than that covered in the first semester, and keeping up with the it is time-consuming. The best advice I can give is to take the program seriously and do not procrastinate when it comes to reading and studying. Best wishes to you guys while you wait for your letters!

Thanks so much for that information. I'm so excited. We find out in about 3 more weeks who made it in.

I get so excited thinking about starting nursing classes and actually learning how to be a nurse. It's literally all I think about and will be such a dream come true for me. I absolutely love to help people and serve and learn. So I'm overjoyed to be this far and I'm believing God that I'm getting in this August.

I've heard really great things about the program.

Good luck to you on your tests!

Thank goodness I won't have any other class besides my nursing courses.

Where do you suggest getting our uniforms from?

Where do you guys do clinicals at? & how do you like them??

Hey I'm just logging back in. has anyone received their letter? If so does it come in a letter or packet?
