BRCC Nursing Applicants for Fall 2014

Hey everyone! I just turned in my application for the Fall of 2014 a couple of days ago. I take the HESI in a little over a week! I am super nervous and full of anxiety, haha. I was just wondering what GPA everybody else is applying with and how many pre-reqs were taken at BRCC

Does anyone know if we have to wear all white shoes for clinicals? I see that we have to wear white closed toe shoes with our polos, but I don't see anything about our uniforms

I could be wrong but I think the white shoes are only for clinicals.

Is the nursing bundle only available for purchase at the BRCC bookstore? Is it their own edition? The ISBN does not pull up.

Wow--Did you get pointed to a box when you asked for the Fundamental materials at the BRCC bookstore? They said it can't be returned if it's been opened, so I'm scared to open it.

Hi I'm not sure if anyone is still using this thread. I just applied to take my hesi exam in 2 weeks. I am very nervous! Were you able to use a calculator on the math portion? What book was most helpful? I purchased the one in the bookstore.Congrats to all that were accepted!

Hi-You are allowed to use a calculator for the math portion of the test. It's on the computer screen, so you don't need to bring your own.

As far as study materials, I mostly studied the book from the bookstore, too. I did also buy an app by EducationApps so I could review when I was out and about. I scored fine after using these materials, and I started in the program in fall of 2014.

In the past, the deadline was march 2.

Thanks I just have one final question. If you don't mind me asking what was your score and GPA, I'm sooo nervous lol. Did the bookstore book relate alot to the test?

Sure--I had a 95.5 on the HESI, and I had an A in the one prereq that I took at BRCC (A&P I). My other prereqs were from many years ago at LSU, and I'm not 100% what the grades were. The bookstore book helped a lot with regard to the math problems (that was my best section). It helped me have an idea of what to expect on the reading and vocabulary sections, but I don't know how much it improved my score on those sections.
