hello everyone,

I applied last june for NCLEX-RN Fl BON,and I register in pearson vue already, they said I will just wait for att then i could schedule my exam.May i ask anybody... how long will i wait to get att?? its been 2 mos.:zzzzz

Have you already completed the CES? They will not look at your application until they have receive that, and also prefer that you do not send anything to them until that is done.

Would not do anything further if you do not have the CES completed already.

If you go the website for Illinois and check on their contact us section, it will give their physical address.

thanks suzzane

not yet but I"m going to complete it next week

where I have to send it to the eddress of cgfns or in gaps-recipient address to write the Illinois board of nursing e.t

All application of CES first I send to cgfns in Philadelphia as I fill the address of recipient

is it correctly or please correct me

the problem with some BON they wont send you the eligibility unlike california they will send you packet. this was my experince with north carolina they have this tracking online on the aplication status they have recieved all my documents for my eligibility, but i waited to receive the packet so that i can register with the pearsonvue, after 3 months i received nothing so i tried to email the NC BON if i am eligiblie to take, IMAGINE THE REPLY FROM BON....you will only be eligible if you pay $200 at pearsonvue. so if only i register earlier i would have my ATT earlier also but i was expecting they will send me the eligibility packet like the california.

Agree BON's can be different, on some BON websites I have seen them write do not register with pearsonvue until they tell you to. You will have to rely on what the BON website states and if in doubt contact them.

Please send in only the CES application at this time and make sure that your credentials are accepted by them. And you can include the address of the CTS on that form, they do all of the work for IL BON. There are threads on this forum that have specifics about them.

yes, i have taken the nle and passed it :clpty:. thank you for asking. even though i am a us citizen, i did not want to be questioned years from now as to why i didn't take the local board exam. by taking and passing the exam i am insulated from future changes in state laws when it comes to license eligibility ... hopefully.

i saw the nle as a pre-test to the nclex. even though they are 2 different exams there should be some similarity at least in the fundamental nursing areas (medical and nursing practice questions). if anything it gave me a chance to channel my emotions and efforts for a national exam.

hi there! i just wanted to ask how you were able to take the local philippine nle being a us citizen? are you a dual-citizen or were you a previous filipino citizen who became naturalized in the us? although i haven't gotten word from ca brn yet, i submitted my application without a local license since i was told back at my school by the administration that i can't take the local nle being a pure us citizen.

since you are a pure us citizen i guess you have to write a letter to cali bon stating your reason why you have no local license because you are not allowed to sit for the nle exam and they might waive the need of local license.

for the meantime just wait for the decision of the cali bon for furhter updates on your application.

If not dual citizenship then you can not sit the Philippine local boards, I would suggest if you haven't already done so, getting a letter from the nursing body in the Philippines explaining that you can not sit the local boards. Although you have sent a letter Ca can be strict and may require proof that you can't take it

hi, i’m all three. i’m a us citizen, a dual citizen and a naturalized us citizen. the law, r.a. 9173 indicates the requirement for applicants:

sec. 13. qualifications of applicants. — in order to be admitted to the examination for nurses, an applicant must, at the time of filing his or her application, establish to the satisfaction of the board of nursing that:

(a) he or she is a citizen of the philippines, or a citizen or subject of a country which permits filipino nurses to practice within its territorial limits on the same basis as the subject or citizen of such country: provided, that the requirements for the registration or licensing of nurses in said country are substantially the same as those prescribed in this act;

it clearly states that you must be a philippine citizen. the question is in the second part of being eligible, where it states “… or citizen ... which permits filipino nurses to practice within its territorial limits…” that can be interpreted if the us allows the philippine education to be acceptable for us practice than you are also eligible to take the nle.

i’m not a legal expert, but the usa can also interpret that in the same way and you should get a ruling from the philippine regulatory committee (prc) clearly stating you cannot sit for the local board exam. as individual state(s) and philippine policies concerning applicants can change. it would be prudent to get a document from the prc saying you are un-qualified to sit for the nle at this time due to your citizenship. this can minimize the question, "why didn’t you take the local exam" in the future.

i could have dropped my dual citizenship and foregone the nle. but i wanted to take the nle exam. i spent so much time and effort in nursing school that the nle was the culminating act of my education here. it also proved to me i was good enough to meet the local standards and soon i will test it against the us standards via nclex.

good luck.

Thanks a lot for the information. Before I even left for the Philippines to take up Nursing, I was already informed that I could not take the local NLE as a natural-born US citizen. Although I did accomplish all the necessary RLE case requirements to register with PRC just in case (scrubs and deliveries), when the college started to assist the students in processing registrations for the NLE, they informed me that I could not be processed because I wasn't eligible. I couldn't even furnish an NSO or civil registrar birth certificate since mine came from Maryland!

Having been reading on these forums about so many applicants being turned away by CA BRN for not having a local license has still gotten me very worried. Until I get an official word from them, I guess I couldn't really be at ease. It's been around 2 months since they received my application, guess I'm still looking at a few more weeks of wait time till I get a correspondence from them. In the meantime, I'm trying to get a hold of the PRC (I can't seem to find a phone number for their office), so I can find out how to get a letter/waiver for the NLE due to my ineligibility as a foreign citizen.

You're welcome. Good luck in getting your paperwork sorted out.
