VisaScreen Certificate question

Hi!

First I have to share my frustration with you:

I've just called CGFNS and the telephone attendant was as rude as usually. I feel those people really hate their jobs and most of all they hate answering your questions....

Anyways...

What I'd like to know is - after passing the NCLEX, who is the one that's supposed to send the results to CGFNS (to get the VS cert.)? Is it me or the BON?

If it's the BON, do they send it automatically or do I have to ask them to do it?

(by the way - this is the question I asked that guy on the phone and he just wasn't able to gimme an answer, so that's why I'm asing you. Very frustrating).

Thanks

Zohar

You need to request that the state BON send the information to CGFNS. I always suggest following up with the BON to make sure that it is taken care, and also find out what the fee is that they want, usually about $10-25, depending on the state.

Suzanne, can you imagine in Oklahoma i had to pay $40 to BON ?!

Zohar, since i've already done it :wink2: , here is a good advice for you: read those instructions. Then you won't have to even call them. That little book has very clear explanations for everything.

They probably do not deal with having to fill out the forms too often.............

Hi, I have also a small concern about my visascreen. I made a mistake in writing my middle name. The one I wrote was the one I'm using when I'm still single. It should be my family name that should appear as my middle name now that I am married followed by my new last name (my husband's). Should there be a problem when I present that to the U.S. Embassy in case I will be scheduled for interview? If I need to have it replaced, how soon should I request it plus how long do you think can they replace it? Thanks......

It could make a difference, please send them the proper paperwork so that they can make the changes. What name is on all of your other documents?

The names have to match, or should. If just the last name changed because you got married, then just submuit a copy of the birth certificate with your documents. Even a birthdate that is wrong, will delay you getting anything from CGFNS.

My CGFNS, TOEFL and TSE certificates/results were all under my name when I was still single. Then I applied for visa screen, I decided to change it to my married name. I made a mistake when I filled up the visa screen application form. For example my name when I was still single was SENJU TOKYO JAPAN. Husband's last name for example is NARITA. My visa screen certificate appears as SENJU TOKYO NARITA but the correct one is SENJU JAPAN NARITA.

Suzanne, sorry if I am confusing you with all these. I tried searching for the answer at the website but I couldn't get the answer. I want to act now before it's too late but I think what happened to me was a very isolated case. I have all documents like marriage certificate, birth certificate, old passport (single) and new passport (married). Thanks for your reply.

God Bless.

what is a VISA SCREEN?

1. At the moment there aren't any visas available due to retrogression. There are people who have been waiting as long as 2003 for a visa. Retrogression basically means there are more applicants than visas available.

2. Right now there aren't many employers willing to spend the money to sponsor a foreigner when they are laying off their own staff nurses in order to save money.

3. New grads are having a hard time finding jobs because there aren't any available.

4. Seasoned nurses are having a hard time finding jobs.

5. The economy is bad right now in the US, we are in a very bad recession.

6. Your best bet is to look at another country for the time being.
