Hello! I am not at all sure this will help but maybe you can try Virginia? (Hampton Roads - Va Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, etc) We have a large filipino community here. If you got in contact with someone, maybe they can help you. (Try St. Matthew's parish...I bet they can help!) Good Luck anyway and congratulations on passing your NCLEX!! :nurse:

hi everyone! i need help! which hospitals offer sponsorship in CA? i'm a new grad from a nursing school here in southern california. i need a sponsorship so i could stay here and work. i need pay back huge huge loans, help my family back home and start saving $$. i just passed the nclex and got my RN license last month. i'm looking for a hospital that can sponsor and provide new grad training also. hopefully, one that has a good working environment and reasonable pay as well. my time and few $$s are running out... help!

PS: i don't mind relocating to other places/states too, if they would offer what i'm looking for..

Would suggest you use the word petition instead of sponsorship. There are a few hospitals in AZ offering petitions for nurses.

yes i agree but if you have been to this website long enough, there was somebody who followed an ILL-ADVICE posted here regarding immigration.....it messed up the immigration process of that person.....
if its about medications or regarding immigration for a foreigner who is at the end of her nursing studies here in the US, ILL-ADVICE is the last thing she needs......in the former, it will affect the life of a patient, in the latter, it will affect the life of the nurse......
a blind leading another blind is not the best option in life.....
contrary to your observation, NOT EVERYONE who responds here with advice is trying to help.......some are even trying to purposely mislead.......try reading some posts in the Philippine thread.....

Don't wave your finger at me! This is a nursing website, not an immigration lawyer website or a doctor website. If someone takes the info as gospel, then they are silly. Who would trust their immigration or medication to a website of random people, none of whom you know? It's intended for general advice.

thanks for your message. how's life in virginia? i haven't thought about virginia until your posting. do you know of any particular hospital that does petitioning? any good feedbacks on any of them? i'm trying to use up all my possible options here in LA firs.. and i hope i can find out where i should be before retrogression or before it worsens.. meanwhile i'm also listing down people's suggestions (like yours), i know i'll need them. :thankya:

I know where jonRNMD is coming from.

there are a lot of rumors flying around in our country.

in our country, a lot of people are still not aware of what the Internet really is.

some of them take it as the Gospel Truth. "nakalagay sa Internet e!" ("it's on the Internet!")

most people don't post questions here, they just read the posts.

and take the advice literally.

some damage had been done before, and pushing for H-Visas for nurses can do harm.

some recruiters/agencies are convincing people that H-Visas are the way to go coz of the Retrogression.

anyway, you can ask Suzanne about her opinion of H-Visas for RNs intending to work in the US.

that is precisely why i waved my finger at you......."some" people here do take it at face value.....not everybody is as informed or as smart as you.....the philippines is not like australia where internet penetration is high.......

Hi athenian,

I was in a similar position a few months ago. I found a few hospitals here in Northern California. Some hosipitals paid for the petition (but usu. will ask you to sign contract or there's probation period), and some hospitals will only help sign paperworks and ask you to find your own lawyers (which may cost few thousands dollars).

I signed up with a large teaching hospital here that helped pay for petition, given that I passed a 6 month probation (obviously, I didn't have enough funding after all those expensive nursing tuition here), but unfortunately, with this retrogression news, I don't know how things will go...=( If I could go back in time, I might have signed with another hospital that would start paperworks right away...and get another loan to pay for the lawyers.......

I wish you good luck. My advice is to attend all the open houses and talk with as many HR representatives as you could to learn about whether or not they'd petition before applying to the hospitals.
