bonjour! any filipinos who are already in quebec, any feedback pls of this program. im just waiting for my decision letter from OIIQ. i graduated 2009 and had 1 year exp in hosp. how's the french language exam? PLEASE... GOD BLESS :):nurse:

Hi Ginger's mom!

so does it mean that we, filipinos still need to have a doctorate for us to be able to find job easily? hmmmmm...

The report doesn't break out to "Filipinos" but if you have a doctorate you will find a job easier. Also good idea to visit Quebec before you move there. And learn Canadian French fluently. Also have lots of funds since it may take quite awhile to find a nursing position.

You also have to understand that historically Quebec has searched for migrants from the former French speaking colonies. You will find a lot of Haitian, Morrocans, Algerians in PQ. Francophones from around the world have always had priority.

I remember reading here, nurses were migrating to Saskatchewan. Despite all the warnings about the climate ,culture, etc- the immigrant nurses professed that they were ready to adopt Saskatchewan as their new home. They felt they were qualified with their BSN and would have no issue adapting to Saskatchewan .

The nurses were treated warmly, given an extended orientation, temporary housing, and set up in RN positons.

While the postings stopped here, I have read many could not pass the CRNE ( and this was after tutoring and coaching). Many tried for the LPN test and moved to other areas such as Vancouver. It was really no benefit for Saskatchewan .

So when I read here about foreign nurses wishing to migrate to Quebec with not even visiting I am skeptical skeptical . There will be no welcoming committee and a test where Canadians from other areas can't pass.

My point is there are people who wish to adopt Quebec as their new home, but the actions of people who wish to go only for a job will effect the people who truly wish to move. Saskatchewan stopped recruiting foreign nurses, mostly due to the economy but I think officials will think long and hard due the the lack of performance due to the initial nurses who proceeded them.

Go to Quebec because you love Quebec and welcome Quebec as your home, otherwise you will be doing yourself and patients a diservice. As Fiona pointed out successful immigrants come from French culture. If you have never experience this culture moving there is not the way.

Hi guys.I'm new here. I am a Filipino RN. No experience yet.

Does anyone here knew or went in montreal through the Quebec Nursing Program, student visa? What's your status right now? How much is your salary as "CPN" or candidate for the profession in nursing after completing the integration program? What can you advice me? Enhance visa services Inc. offer us this Quebec Nursing Program, which is in Montreal. Please tell me more about if it's good to pursue Quebec Nursing Program. Please help me if you knew because you can help me deciding and for our future....Thank you very much. God will bless you...

Hi steven. I am a Filipino RN, too specifically in Cebu. I also applied under ENHANCE VISA SERVICES, INC. for the Quebec Nursing Program.

What happened to your application then? I hope i can talk with you regarding this one since we are of the same City in the Philippines and under one agency, too. :)

I would be glad to hear you then. Here's my e-mail address: [email protected]

Thanks:nurse:

hi everyone!

I am new in this thread. I have also heard of this program from Enhance Visa Services. I just want to ask if you are already in the CPN status, do you have to wait for mos or years before taking the board exam? And also is somebody been in this thread already in Quebec in this program? kindly share some experiences. Thanks..^^

bonjour! it's been a long time i haven't visted this thread and I'm quite surprise that there are so many nurses applying in Quebec.. guess we are all in the same boat.. but now I'm in such dilemma i applied for the QNP yet now i'm given an offer to transfer to the QSW... I'm really confused if i have to shift program... I'm afraid taking the french exams however, i have to take it somehow in Phil. to get a bigger points... and is it true Phil. applicants need to go to hongkong for an interview pls. give me some insights about this... merci...

@ charmzelle

I would like to ask if what agency/consultancy did you apply? I've heard from Enhance, that there is no need for the applicants to go to hongkong. I'm also in a dilemma because I'm both qualified in both QSW and QNP, I prefer the QNP but they told me that QSW is a better option. I wanted the QNP simply because I can work there as a nurse and not some other jobs.

hello..Yes I'm from Enhance as well...I just made my final decision a while ago. If it's true that there's no need to go to hongkong for an interview then that is really great... It saves us from spending... however the need to take the TEFAQ is greatly advised so as to be assured to get the needed points and that is 55 if I'm not mistaken... Although I'm studying french in Alliance Francaises du cebu in my 2nd module... I'm not confident as of I can make it... despite the fact that I only need 2 points I'm still worried... I couldn't risk 15k knowing that I'll miserably fail...

so perhaps i have to stick with QNP ... nonetheless when i read the posts here it makes me shiver to death:crying2: about the uncertainties and the difficulties I have to go through once I get there (God willing)...

hope to hear from you soon....

i thought they only need the oral and listening part..writing is very tough

But charting is in French and it's a legal document, so fluency IS required.

@ Charmzele

I'm about to apply in Enhance, probably this week. I think I will go with the QSW since it's easier to be an immigrant through this program rather than the QNP, it will take a lot of years. By the way, regarding the TEFAQ, do you know the schedule of exams for next year in Cebu? Since I'm not from there..Thanks.

@ agnes_blush27

If you're option is the QSW, you will need the French test, TEFAQ, which comprises the speaking and listening tests. However, if you opted for the QNP, the French exam after you took the board exam in Quebec is similar with the ielts with reading, speaking, writing, and listening (based from what I've read in other forums and here as well).

@elajo

You are absolutely right that the QNP program is much difficult compared to QSW if given ample time i would have shifted program, nonetheless I'm not practicing my profession as a nurse for the time being... my agent advised me to hasten up my application for my working experience might not be valid anymore... (working experience validity is like 5 years ... that's what they told me) Well personally I myself thought that I have forgotten a lot... this might not be good for me....with this time constrain... i opted with QNP.. however I will still apply for the QSW God willing once I get there... perhaps I can get an added points...so bonne chance to all of us ...

I'll try to ask alliance as to when will be the next exam... or better yet try to check their site academic calendar is available...
