by the way, when did you send your letter to OIIQ??

thanks...:)

my letter was just sent last week. any feedback please..

there was a orientation on quebec program here in Bohol. Is it true that quebec nursing council doesn't requires paid experience and IELTS?

thanks in advance to those who reply

true. no experience needed and IELTS. but you need to learn the french language :-)

I took the Transition for IENs Nursing Program last July-December 2009. First 3 months are theory and the rest are clinicals. You have a choice if you want to take it in an English or French system college. OR... find a clinical preceptor in a specific unit in a hospital. This preceptor will be given an evaluation grid that they will use if you've met satisfactory performance or competencies on each required criteria.

Just wait for the OIIQ's letter regarding on their decision. I heard there were already some changes since the time I finished my course.

According to my colleagues, the French Language exam is pretty tough. It's like IELTS but on French. They would require oral, reading, writing, listening. It is given every 3 months.

They say the hardest part is writing.

I didnt take my french test yet. Anyway, you gonna have 4 years to learn and complete the french test.

One of my Pinay co-worker (who transferred her Ontario license here in Quebec) took intensive High school french for 7 months. After completion, the OIIQ grant her Full RN license.

@narsheen

Did you pay for the three month transition nursing program for IENs? How many months did it take for the OIIQ and MICC to evaluate your credentials and give you a permit to apply for a transition nursing program?

Thank you very much and good luck!

Oh! I think I would have a hard time learning French language.. I've already took IELTS and writing is really my weakness. How much more if I will take the FL. Oh! Come on! Please change this requirement. :D

But if ever you are already granted CPN (temporary work permit), are you allowed to move to another state? I don't feel FL. ;(

It would be a great headache to me! http://icons.an-file.info/sad.png

the temporary working permit is renewable every year..

Do you know anything about Canada?

1. You want to work in Quebec, you pass their language requirements. Anglophone nurses educated in Canada must meet the Quebec language requirement if they want to work there.

2. Canada doesn't have states.

Quebec, the government and it's people are proud of their French heritage and aren't going to change anytime soon.

If you are serious about living there you need to do some serious research. Look into the separtist movement, the language laws and educational laws of any children you might be planning one day. Your eyes will be opened.
