Hi

Was just wandering if anyone could help.

My story so far.

I am trying to go it alone without a UK agency into Florida.

Application to Vermont for licence sent with transcrips and $150

Application to sit NCLEX approved

Registered with Pearsonvue and paid $200

Just waiting for (ATT) should be here within three weeks. Then hope to sit NCLEX in London

Today paid $325 application for visascreen with CGFNS

have completed application online and they say I how have to send university transcrips, college of further education transcips and proof of NMC registation (in a sealed envelope with university stamp on seal)

Do I have to do this as vermont have already had this info?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

You must send the full set of documents to CGFNS. Tey have nothing to do with Vermont. This is why that I tell everyone to go the route of NY, it saves you all of the time of the paperwork. Vermont is for licensure in the US, CGFNS Visa SCreen is for immigration.

Be advised also that you will have to pay additional $150 to take the NCLEX in London. The fee is $200 for the US, but $350 for the International Centers.

Hi,

Yes you do have to send second set of transcripts send a pre paid fed-ex type envelope to school with address of where you are sending the transcripts to, with a letter explaining why and what you need your school of nursing to do. You shouldn't have to pay for second transcript, Manchester University didn't charge me.

Good luck hope this helps

Suzanne, how is it that Ann has been able to register with Pearson for NCLEX? I thought all foreign nurses had to have their nursing education evaluated by CGFNS before registering for NCLEX? Don't think we've had anyone from the UK in this position before have we? Or have we? We all had to get CES from CGFNS in order to get eligibilty from the BON for NCLEX. Just wondering, as I still like to keep informed of how things work :wink2:

No, it depends on which state that you go thru for initial licensure. Not all require the CES. :)

There are states that do not require the exam or the evaluation. The biggest one being California. Some states do their own evaluation.

I like NY, they require their own special verification but all documents are obtained by CGFNS and you do not have to do anything. Same documents can be used for Visa Screen as well.

Sooner or later every nurse that is getting the green card on their own, has to go thru CGFNS for the Visa Screen Certificate.

I'm from the philippines and already a registered nurse, i had my exam in CGFNS but the result is not yet out. my inquiry regarding all that i've read in this post, does that mean i have to apply NCLEX exam to NY not in California? since my target of working is in california. kinda confusing...

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

Hope you have a smooth transition. Good luck :)

You can apply where ever you wish, but CA will not issue you a license until you have a Social Security Number. And you will have to go thru CGFNS for the Visa Screen Certificate, so NY makes more sense. But you can go any route that you wish.

If for some reason you wish to work in another state before you get to the US, you will just have more headaches. CA is not recommended for any foreign trianed RN unless you already would have a SSN#.

I am Bulgarian nurse. I passed NCLEX IELTS exams. At the moment my file is in CGFNS for visa screen aproval. It has been taking more than one year untill now and I still don`t get aproval for USA visa. I wonder why? I spent more than 3 years in preparation doing exams. And then insted of fast moving ahead I am getting sticked to ICHP. All the time there are some obstracles.

Now the last one is wrong endorsment between CGFNS and Alaska boad of nurses.I have feeling they want me to give up.

I have a question . Does anybody know do I need amercan recruitment company to get to USA or I can do it myself?

Three years is such a long time- You can go it alone a lot on here are going it that way. others will give you advice

How long ago did you actually pass both exams? In the past it has taken at least four months to get your Certificate after you have completed the last exam.

I know absolutely nothing about the Alaska BON and how they operate.

Have you actually phoned CGFNS and spoken to a human to try and get everything cleared up? This would be my next recommendation.

There is absolutely no reason that you could not go the direct hire route.
