i posted here rather than in NCLEX topics because i need to ask my fellow Filipino nurses or anyone ...here it goes..

i am planning to take the nclex in Hongkong..anyone who could tell me the step by step procedures..from CA BRN to PEarson vue applications, finger print card, going in HOngkong, where to stay..etc..

sorry..but i havent leave the Philippines since i was born..:chuckle

thanks in advance!!

what state do you suggest that can be easily endorsed to CA?..their requirements or websites?..

thanks!

If you did not already have your Visa Screen Certificate I would recommend NY to you. CGFNS dies all of the work for you in obtaining your records for you due to the restrictions in NY. Arizona, New Mexico, and Florida just require a credentials evaluation form CGFNS. They at least will issue you your license without a SSN#................much prefer it that way. :)

Any state can be easily endorsed to California. That is the easy part.....

i do have my visa screen and my cgfns certificate..still NY is the best for nclex rn?..the easiest to file for nclex-rn?

NY will be more expensive since they require a special verification done by CGFNS and they cannot use any of your previous documents that have laready been submitted. NY requires that CGFNS get the documents on their own, you only sign a paper authorizing them to be able to. Since you already have CGFNS done, about any other state is okay. You just want one that will issue you a hard license right away.

The Canadians use Minnesota because it is the quickest for them.

I just recommend that you use anything but CA for initial licensure, but it is your choice.

well maybe i'll go for CA-BRN....3 years is long enough for me to have a SS#..may petition (I-140) has been filed already...i received a copy of receipt notice from my attorneys..all i have to do is wait and review for the NCLEX-RN..

wish me luck people!!!!:)

I'm a bit confused about the sequence of events regarding obtaining ATT.

When the State Board has all the required documentation (CGFNS reports, application form and fees etc) do they then instruct Pearson Vue to issue ATT? I understand that the Board informs you of your eligibility to do NCLEX but I'm unclear of what happens next. Do I contact Pearson or will they contact me? And how long does it take the Board to determine eligibility? (I have applied to Florida BON)

Thanks :)

I believe that it is the Florida BON which issues your ATT not pearson. Once you have your ATT you can then apply to sit your exam with pearson. Once the ATT is issued I think it is valid for 90 days

Thanks Anna for your reply. I've emailed the Board and they have replied to say that it is in fact Pearson who issue ATT after the Board deems you eligible. This is all so confusing

Anybody else know anything? I don't like to keep contacting the Board.

All of the ATTs are provided by the state Board of Nursing where you applied for licensure. Pearson-Vue is just the company that is contracted to administer the exam. That is why you need the actual letter from your Board of Nursing to be able to sit for your exam.

Hi there! I'm an RN in the Philippines. I'm planning to apply in New Mexico. I have a tourist visa. I will take the IELTS here in my country. What are the things I need to do and have? Thank you!

Where are you planning to work? Where are you plaaning to write the NCLEX exam?

New Mexico requires that you have a CES, credentials evaluation done by CGFNS before they will give you approval to sit for the exam.

You still need to apply for the Visa Screen Certificate.

i hav no work and i havnt took d NLE, do i need to have a SSN??

You can take the NCLEX without the SSN but the California BON will not release your license until you have a SSN. They may ask you to explain in writing why you do not have a SSN and you can say that you are not yet legally entitled to have one.You do not have to take the NLE in order to qualify for the NCLEX. You may also have to explain in writing why you are not licensed but you can always say that you haven't taken the exam yet or that you do not intend to practice nursing in the country. As for the fingerprint card, you may be able to get one at the US consulate in Waterfront Hotel, Lahug. Sometimes they run out. They may ask to see your PRC ID before you can enter the consulate. You can have your fingerprints taken at the NBI office near the Capitol building. Hope I was able to help.
