hi everyone can any one can explain me whether LI visa is applicable for hiring nurses i n us hositals if sponsors are available how much time the processing takes place and plz give me information regarding the visa processing thanks in advance

LI or L1? L1 are intra company transfer visas and aimed I believe at managers and highly skilled individuals. LI? not sure what that is

i have been informed that though LI is for intra companies if any job is available in us as nurses we can appplu for that post using that visa is it true

L1 does not apply to hospitals and nurses.

I cannot think of any US hospital that has a "company branch" over seas.

Intracompany means if you work for Apple in Tokyo as a specialized employee, manager or executive you can potentially use an L1 visa (non-immigrant) to work for Apple (and only Apple) in the US in the same role.

thanq for your reply is the nurses only applicable for eb3 and HIB visas are there any alternative types available and can u suggest any other method of processing which will finish quickly and applicable for nurses

Not. For the US

yes for5 us camn u suggest alternative methods of processing if any

It seems as if you have received some good advice. However, there are just no alternative ways of getting into the us quickly. If these methods are not fast enough, you may look into other countries with quicker immigration timelines.

Good luck.

To the OP, one of my batchmates friend (we're from the Phils) who is a nurse in India with over two years of experience over there, passed her NCLEX-RN in TX, she too has an uncle (her father's brother, her dad is a doctor in India) who came to the US about 12 years ago, as a surgeon. He hired a immigration lawyer to see how he could get his niece over to the US and he was going to put up all the money to co-sponsor her visa along with his hospital's workplace.

They tried every angle and any possible situations, after almost a year of research and trials, she is still no better off than she was a couple of years ago and still in India today.

The other interesting but sad part was that while waiting to get more answers from the US lawyer, Canada recently closed their doors to the nursing profession for new applications.

i am a Bsc nurse cleared the nclex recently my dream is to work in usa but i know that eb3 visa which most nurses comes under is difficult as it has a wait period of more than 10 years can any one suggest me the best way to get to us in any other applicable method and anyone can say any of your friends from india reached us in recent time plz provide me necessary information i am desperately need of some help

Threads merged per terms of service. There is no quick way to the US. You have received a lot of realistic responses and ideas in this thread already. The reality is there is no nursing shortage in much of the US. Retrogression (delay in visa processing) has been in effect since around 2006. The wait for a work or immigrant visa for someone born in India is 10-13 years and there is no shortcut available. Read the post by SteppyBay with some recent examples of attempts to get to the US as a nurse...unfortunately their friend is still in India waiting.

Like beachy says.....You have been given some really good advice...asking the same question over and over again isn't going to change the answers. The reality is there isn't a nursing shortage and facilites aren't sponsoring...with hundreds of applications for every position there is not need to sponsor IEN's.

I am sorry you are frustrated.

Hi, Abhinay, just as we have exhausted our knowledge to give you the best advice we can and we all know that it's not what you want to hear. But there's only but a few of any available visas that you qualify under. I suggest that you also further Google the same visas you have mentioned to us and see if it's applicable to your particular case.

The only other advice I would give is to see and ask for any more recent schoolmates or nurses in India that have been successful in coming to the States and are working as an RN.

Short of that, your other best bet is ask an immigration lawyer in India, but see if he/she can give a 1/2 hour of free legal advice and even before signing any documents, ask for any of their most recent successful nurse applicant that they got 100% approval to come to the States. No one here is qualified with legal advice, but that's where you should address your concerns. Again, you need to do the homework with the hiring of any lawyer and yes, we all know they are expensive, so hope you can find one that will give you a more precise answer at no cost to very little. Good luck!
