To all of you who have finally gone through the torture chamber of study and 'enlightenment' ... welcome to the other side.

Have you got new graduate programmes yet? What are your rotations?

Love to hear how you are all going...

Congrats Tina. Not long to go now! BTW, you'll have to change your name - you won't be a student anymore!!!

Specializes in Paediatric Surgical.

Thank you!

I have just had the results of the State Exam (NZ) I passed!! :nurse:

I am off to Starship (kids' hospital) later next month. It's so exciting and scary...I can't wait :roll

Good on ya Lisa! How does the new grad programme work in NZ?

Nyapa Tina, saw you changed your name (the Yolngu ladies call us female nurses 'nyapa')

Best of luck for January, ppl

I've got one more paper left, thankfully a theory paper, and then my electives. I'll sit state in July, and me and my huge orifice student loan might just bite the bullet, tolerate the heat and move to Aussie, but I'm not quite sure where to start looking for a post grad programme, what are the good ones, anyone know?

Well, I'm sure people here know.

I'm up North, in a regional hospital. You'd probably get a lot more recent and up to date experience in the 'southern hospitals' and others here should be able to help you. Our speciality is tropical infectious diseases - wonder why?

GRRRR am starting to get frustrated with the QNC!!! :angryfire

I STILL havent gotten my registration yet!!!!

I know my name was on the letter sent from my UNI to the QNC on the 20th dec, I know the QNC has that letter. I start work on the 21st (in 10 days!!), but still don't have my registration yet...agghhh can't start work without that registration!!

I sooo wish they would hurry up!! I am checking the website about 20 times a day to see if it is up yet :innerconf

I did pick up my uniforms yesterday, so that was exciting, starting to get 'real'. I still feel like I am in a dream and this cannot be happening to a nohoper, centrelink dependant single mum like me :w00t:

I am sure you are NONE of that, Tina!

Follow your dreams and I wish you all the very best!

I hope you've received your registration by now.

I'm sure it'll be ready in time.

Perhaps a phone call might alleviate your concerns?

Thanks Grace

I did ring them and they basically told me nothing LOL

They are in the process of processing the applications for registration and cannot guarentee that my registration will be through before I start work in 10 days :o

So everyone please pray to whatever deity you belive in that it comes through!!!! The hospital that I am to be working in also has a policy that they must SEE the paperwork confirming the registration not just look on the QNC website to confirm that I am registered :o

Really starting to panic now!!

Specializes in Operating Room Nursing.

AussieTina-I'm sure that there will be other soon to be registered nurses in your position. I can't believe you have to wait for this to be processed! I just took a copy of my academic transcript into the nurses board here in SA, filled out the forms and was registered there and then....

If your doing a GNP you should get some orientation to the hospital as well where you don't actually work in the clinical area. So that might give you some extra days...

Specializes in Medical, Paeds, Ob gyn, NICU.

Well I am still waiting for my registration!!!

I just can't believe this is happening to me, I am really getting very depressed over this. I worked my butt off as a single mum with 4 kids for the last 3 years to get this degree and now this!! I have not been able to enjoy having a break over worrying about if my registration will come through in time.

I am meant to be starting work on monday , and I am checking on the QNC website about every hour to see if it is up yet :o
