i have merged all your posts in this one thread so that there would be less clutter and more people can see and respond to it. makes it easier for future reference and future searching as well. thanks. :D

Your major issue is that if you took the exam, you do not have a license yet. And you must list that you took the exam, to with hold that information is falsifying a document. It is going to be up to the individual state to decide on how to handle it.

And most are going to want you to retest first. There are major issues going on in the US right now over the NLE exam, and including an artcle the other day in one of the large Chicago newspapers.

You will find issues trying to find a hospital to hire you with so many questions up on the air about the June exam without retesting.

You can submit it to them, but I seriously doubt that they will do anything as CGFNS needs to submit their report (CES), and they can't without verification.

IL doesn't require you to be licensed in your country of education.

if you took the local exam, you should disclose the information and submit the CT-NUR form.

if you haven't taken the local exam, there's no problem with that. you dont need to submit the CT-NUR form. it can be seen on your application form if you've taken the exam or not. so, if you didn't indicate in the application form that you took the exam, they won't wait for the license verification form (CT_NUR). got it?

leave it blank if you really dont have one. if not, it is FRAUD.

CES doesn't require you to be licensed in the country of education either. Just indicate in the application form that you haven't taken the local exam and they won't wait for that. But it is a different scenario if you took the exam. Informations about the applicant should be disclosed... :nuke:

good day colleagues.

i recently passed the nle for the philippines and is quite unsure of the steps in processing an il license. i went ahead and reviewed some forms available in the website of illinois center for nurses. i even wrote an e-mail to ms. bromberg for clarifications, i got a response from one of her assistants. i will post our correspondence here.

chicago , illinois 60601 dear ms. bromberg, good day i recently passed the nursing licensure exam from the philippines. i have a brother working in champaign as a physical therapist. i logged on to your site http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/who/nurs.asp and read the procedures for foreign nurses. i wish to clarify some information before submitting documents to your council to prevent errors. my questions are: 1. i graduated from a school with an english curriculum, could i take the ielts instead of toefl? 2. can i take the nclex first before ces and toefl/ielts? 3. will i be eligible to take the nclex even if my local license has not yet been issued? 4. can i use the california fingerprint card that i got for free for my application? if not, can i get one for free? i will be waiting for your response before i proceed with my application. thank you, joshua rey molina

after 2 days, i received a response saying:

hi joshua:

i have attached a powerpoint presentation that should be able to answer all of your questions regarding licensure in the state of illinois as an internationally educated nurse. if you have any additional questions after reviewing the material, feel free to contact me via email.

thanks

i am thankful for the quick response however, i don't think the powerpoint presentation addressed my issue. i received slides containing the same information available at http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/apply/forms/cgfns_02.pdf

in a very presentable manner.

does this mean that i can only take toefl for my english qualifying exam even if philippine schools have an english-based curriculum? is it toefl or toefl ibt?

does it also mean that i have to go through ces and toefl before i can apply for the nclex?

i asked my brother to contact il center for nursing and ask them verbally.

as for reciprocity, if i got it right, provided that i passed the nclex from a different state and wish to have my license reciprocated in il, all i have to do is complete the requirements for illinois but i won't have to retake the nclex right?

thanks a bunch!

Hi Josh

Before you can sit NCLEX you must meet state requirements for licensure as RN for foreign trained nurse so you will need to get CES done first. If the state requires a language exam also you need to do that so yes you will also have to do TOEFL unless your CES report indicates your training was done in English utilizing English textbooks http://www.idfpr.com/DPR/APPLY/FORMS/CGFNS_02.pdf.

There is also no such thing as license reciprocity, what you have to do is follow requirements for endorsement and that also means requirements for foreign trained nurses and No once passed NCLEX you do not have to do it again (not sure but may have to retake if not nursed over several years and I mean like over 8 years then the state may require you to re sit it)

Therefore for Illinois you need CES and English exam unless indicated otherwise by the CES before you can sit the exam

hey, anyone there waiting for their IL att.. one friend of mine.. registered already in pearson.. she also has her eligibility letter.. but until now.. they haven't given her ATT.. it's been 3 weeks.. how long does it usually take...? anyone experiencing the same thing?
