Ivy Tech - Fall 2012

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Thought I would start a thread to see how many people were applying to Ivy Tech's Fall 2012 nursing programs.

I will be applying to the Fort Wayne campus. Looking to see if they are any others out there who might be joining me.

Please feel free to post where you are applying, and then once those letter get mailed out at the end of May, let us know if you got in!

I applied to the Indy campus ASN and LPN programs. My total score was 166. I got accepted to the LPN program (got my letter around Monday 05-21) and am turning the spot down. My heart is set on the ASN program. I had a B in psych from years ago and am kicking myself that I didn't retake it... For those of you who are wondering, I contacted the school yesterday regarding alternates. After the ASN candidates get their letters, if any spots open up, alternates are picked from the next available highest scores of the ASN pool. Same applies from the LPN pool. From the vibe I am getting, the ASN scores that were accepted were in the 170's and above. I am sure that it will be a while for the alternate spots to open up as everyone has a few weeks to accept or decline as orientation is mid June. JFYI everyone, hope this helps!

Another day, another no-letter-in-my-mail.... If they don't come this week, and I find myself waiting over the holiday into next week, I will not be a pleasant person to live with... *bleh* Just how hard could it be to coordinate dates and send them out the same week, if not the same day? and Yes, I'm just feeling a bit like whining...

I'm right there with you! I'm like stalking the mailman now! I'm thinking if I don't get a letter by Saturday, there will need to be a lot of booze in the house this weekend to keep me sane! :rotfl:

I don't see any others here for Lawrenceburg. But, I hope this will help the data pool. I got accepted into the ASN program with a 173. They were accepting 19 positions with 30 applicants. I had A's in the classes and an 83 on the TEAS. There were a lot more opportunities in Madison for people to get into the program. A lot of my friends had scores in the 60's and 70's. I hope they got in!

When did you receive a letter from Lawrenceburg?

@kiche123 My letter arrived Monday, May 21, 2012. It said, "Congratulations! ...conditional acceptance... must return letter of intent by June 6, 2012. There is a mandatory meeting at Madison campus on June 22, 2012." Now, it's time to re-up the CPR, and the meeting is for changing of major, pee-in-a-cup, and the on-line background check. At least, we will be able to jump through a few hoops all at once...

I applied to both campuses. Was I only supposed to apply to one campus for consideration at both? I have received a letter of acceptance from Madison but nothing from Lawrenceburg as of yet. Thank you for replying and Congratulations!!

@kiche123- Congratulations to you, as well! I think we were allowed to apply to as many as we wished. I did notice that my application had a slot for only one name whereas others had two spaces. I guess applicants were supposed to put their preferences in the order of desire. I only applied to one, because I only took the TEAS once and was going to wait until spring of 2013 if I was rejected. (Gives me time to save up money working at my horrible job: less loans, etc.) I know that Lawrenceburg was only accepting 19 applicants whereas Madison was accepting 70 or so (as to the distribution into ASN, etc, I don't know.) I also know that the acceptance letters were supposed to go out before the rejection letters. Jackie Koch said the letters were sent out on the 14th, one day after the deliberation at the Madison campus. Good luck!

ACK!!!! If B-town and Sellersburg stick to the same schedule they had last year, then we should be getting letters this week... which leaves today and tomorrow before what looks to be turning into an unbearably long weekend. and yes, I'm just OCD enough to browse back through last year's AllNurses and IvyTech message boards to look for the 1st postings concerning letters from those regions. Don't pretend you haven't done it, too. ;)

Can Red Lobster make home deliveries on Bahama Mama's?

And before I forget, again, a BIG shoutout to those of you who made it in already, and a pat on the shoulder to those who didn't. don't give up. It's trite, but true- the only person who really loses is the person who quits the race.

And so begins another looonnnnggg day drag by until mail time...

I feel your pain. Still no letter from the Fort Wayne campus either!

Congrats to all those who've made it in and hang in there to those that are waiting or have denial letters.

It seems like just yesterday that I was waiting for my letter in the mail, becoming more neurotic by the minute, and stalking the mail man! I know what you're going through. I was accepted into the Fall 2010 ASN program at Lawrence and am proud to annouce that I just graduated on May 5th, took my NCLEX on Thursday, and found out today that I'm a Registered Nurse!!!

Just posting because I know it's nice to hear a success story (or just have some distraction) while you're waiting to get in or start the program. And I was lurking to gain info for my hubby, he's been accepted to ASN at Columbus and Kokomo, and LPN at Lawrence with a 166.4.

Good luck to each of you!!
