Has anyone tried Turbo Jam?

I need to get in shape!!

My husband and I were just watching an infomercial for Turbo Jam. Their clients that have used it has had wonderul results - 6-pack abs, down many dress sizes, inches, weight. My husband (who is a sucker for infomercials) has been hagging at me to get the series ($60) but I do not want to get reeled in by their claims.

Anyone have any experience?

:pumpiron:

I have Turbo Jam and have been using it for about a year now. I mainly use the "Turbo Sculpt" for weight training. The music is great. Time really flies.

Saturday I bought The Firm online from their website. They have a new program out with weights, etc. It's only "2 payments of $29.95". I think doing weights (of course along w/ cardio) is really important. Weights are what's going to burn more calories once we build up the muscle.

Good luck!

I love Turbo Jam! I got really good results when I combined it w/Weight Watchers last year (lost about 20 pounds)! It really works your core while doing cardio, has standing ab work as well as traditional crunches, and really helps to strengthen your back. The workouts were really good for my love handles and my back was gorgeous! It's also a good cross training workout for running/walking.

Don't worry if you're rhythmically challenged. I am most of the time, but just remember there is a learning curve. The more you do it, the more you'll get the moves down.

With the instructor, you either love her or hate her. I adore her, but you would have to figure that one out for yourself.

I let school get the best of me and I'm starting over again now, but it is one of the best workout programs I have in my collection. The music & the movements make working out fun & I really recommend that you try it! Bottom line, finding a workout you love to do can be hard, but it's worth it!

I have tried Turbo Jam and love it! It's the only workout I have ever done that I actually look forward to doing. I did buy the set at Amazon.com for $17.00 instead of at beachbody.com which cost about $65.00. It's more like having a little dance party in your living room, so you're not thinking about it being a workout...even though I'm sure it would be a sight to see because I can't dance at all! It's fun anyway! You should definetly try it but I recommend to look for a discounted set.

jahra!! Another VF'er!!

Anyways, I was very curious about TJ, heard great things, but there's also a pretty big thread on VF about those who DON'T like it.

What ultimately saved me from buying these were people telling me it's kickboxing meet dancing. I am VERY choreographically challenged, so pffft.

I've lost 22 pounds since April 5th. I've been doing Nutrisystem and working out for the first time in more than four years. The videos I've been doing the most? Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds. She has a new informercial out for WalkSlim. These are workouts where she does the usual walking, but inserts jogging intervals in there. I'm addicted to the 4-mile!! It's done in about 50 minutes, and I burn between 400 and 450 calories a workout!

I also do a bit of Tamilee Webb's Tighter Assets Cardio Blast, Jillian Michaels' Workout for Beginners (a circuit workout, 6 intevals of 30 seconds of cardio followed by 3 weighted workouts). Speaking of weights, getting into Jari Love's Get Ripped.

Good luck! :balloons:

I wonder what you decided on..

Wow, what a difference a year makes!!

I got the Turbo Jam Maximum Results and Elite Fat Burning Packages a couple of weeks ago. I LOVE them!! I actually look forward to working out..well, most of the time! :clown:

The music is some of the best I've heard in a workout, Chalene and her team are very motivating and fun (my faves are Anna Rita and Mindy), and she has special features on her workout, such as Jamm'd, which is her version of Punk'd.

My favorite thing is that she tells you mistakes still burn calories. When she tells you to dance, everyone does their own thing. I can DO these!!

As far as calories, I'm burning the same as I do with Leslie's 4-miles.

Can't tell you any results yet, but I'll post anything significant.

I'm ready for the ball and Live! workouts!! :heartbeat

:( I need to lose about 70 pounds to even tape into the Guard. I have been running all year long, I know that I am not going to lose weight over night but I know that I could do better. My biggest problem is eating. My family does not take restrictive eating very seriously. I can't always eat something healthy because my mom seems to always want to take the easy way out with cooking by frying and fixing a bunch of sweets and buying alot of drinks. What can I do and how can I do it. If I bought my own food I would go broke trying to feed myself and I wouldn't have many places to store it at. I need help....badly!!!!!!!!

I have not used it but I actually take phone calls for the infomercial part time! People really seem to like the program.

But jsut remember, as with any program, you have to actually use it to see results!

I was entranced one day watching the infomercial... I had to have it... I called and ordered and it was such a hassle - they tried to get me to buy this and that and order this and that. I said no to everything - all i wanted was the dvds. Gave my card number, got my dvds along with all these vitamins and things. I called and said I didnt want all the extras I just want the dvds but they said the extra stuff was free gifts.. Well they took out the money for the dvds. Then the next month the took out $99 here and a few days later $89 there. In 1 month (and after the cost of the dvds) they had taken over $500 out of my account - I had to put a stop payment on my account. I fought with those people - they said the money was for website use and the "free vitamins" and all kinds of things. After about 2 months of nonstop calling on my part they gave me $200 back but that was it. I never opened the DVD's - made me sick to look at them. If you buy it, buy it off amazon or ebay or something but not directly from beachbody.

I use Tae Bo, Firm, and Zumba (my absolute favorite). Zumba makes me sweat and breathe hard but its fun. It's salsa, merengue, and other types of latin dance. Plus I love the music. It's literally a dancing cd but it works you out. It comes with ab, bun and thigh exercises on another dvd but I usually focus on just the cardio cd. I have noticed that my waist has slimmed. I have a line that comes down the middle of my stomach now and my waist/hip area now has indentations! My thighs and my butt have firmed up too.

I love the shape of salsa/latin dancers since they are still curvy but toned. I am NOT trying to lose my butt but tone this region. I eventually want to become a Zumba instructor because it's so fun and works. My friend got me into it since we both love to dance.

Here's a website with info:

When I stumbled upon this thread before, I hadn't the slightest clue what Zumba was.

Now I have a feeling Zumba is going to be one of my most loved best friends. ;)

I have one of the Turbo Jam videos & it's just insane. :lol2:

Two new gems to add to the list - P90X & Hip Hop Abs. :anpom:

And you gotta be hardcore for P90X. :lol2:

I have sold Turbo Jam, p90X and hip hop abs and have heard GREAT reviews from the callers on all 3. Just remember if you buy it it wont do any good unless you use it! lol

I no longer take those phone calls for those infomercials but I was surprised at how many people came back to order more for friends!
