US Army recruitment question

This should be a hoot for some that have read my past postings....

OK its been over 8 months since I sent all requested information into my local Army Medical Recruiting station. I have not had any contact with them since. I didn't follow up I kind of thought they had read my medical and professional information and decided I was not a fit for the Army. Well anyway today I just received an email and they want to talk.

Anyone ever had this kind of experience? Really am contemplating about my response....

Specializes in EMT, ER, Homehealth, OR.

Recruiters will work with people who have frequent contact with them first since they are showing the most interest. Which gives them a better chance on having the person join the service. Once they have time they will follow up with people who have not keep in contact with them. Is this the right way of doing things, I do not know but they only have so much time in a day and the process is very time intensive.

Specializes in L&D, mother/baby, antepartum.

After your lengthy process with the AF I would have thought you would have given up! Glad to hear that you are still holding out hope. I have nothing to offer about the Army obviously, but I do wish you the best in your quest for active duty.

Actually I had.... I come home from work and check my email and after all these months poof a "lets talk qualifications" email......

All I know for sure, is if you are at all interested, you won't fare well by waiting for the recruiters to contact you. You gotta be on the top of there mind every moment from now on. The old "squeaky wheel" addage definitely applies.

Good Luck

JD what did you find out?

Well my schedule has been far from great lately; I know the recruiter has received my follow-up email but has not responded....

Follow up again. Half the recruiting experience always seems to come down to the recruit. Remember - in a way, they're working for you, and it's your future at stake. Keep following up until you get an answer. Don't let them intimidate you or blow you off.
