I just had to tell this little story

Last night we had four nurses on nights so I volunteered to do the 1:1. He has brain cancer and had surgery and keeps trying to take off the bandages, so we had to put him on 1:1. The poor thing doesn't understand they need to stay on. I really enjoyed doing actual one on one pt care and last night really made me realize how much I miss it. So we were sitting in the dayroom waiting for breakfast to arrive when he leaned over to me and said, "Are you my sweetheart?" I most certainly am, I said and gave him a big hug. Well that just tickled me pink. You gotta love the the old folk.
