GPC Fall 2013 letters

U.S.A. Georgia

I can't believe it. I have read in the past I wouldn't hear until the end of March or April to know if I was accepted. To my very happy surprise, I got my letter in the mail today! Let the games begin.....anyone else here from GPC? Good luck to you all!

It also lists all of the supplies we need to purchase for school.

Hey all. They will send out more info in May. :). Via email. And I would recommend taking CPR as late as possible. You will need to renew it every two years. Orientation is normally in July.

The department is just busy wrapping up the semester and getting ready for pinning. Enjoy this time. Relax. Spend time with your friends and family.

Runsalot, is there any kind of info you can share regarding financial aid? Im trying to see if there are any scholarships available for nursing students or will the school go over any of that with us? Trying to figure out how I will work out the cost of it all.

Stephanie, runsalot and aelmo14,

I guess we should do as told and enjoy our 'freedom'! :geek: I keep telling my family that once August is here, do not plan on me being the 'go to' girl for everything. Everyone will need to step up and help out once nursing school starts. I guess I will continue to be in this holding pattern until we hear from the school. I do think I will still start my immunization shots since the Hep B is a series of three shots. I think that and any current 2013 flu shots are the only ones I will be needing to make current. Does anyone else already have their Hep B series done?

There are nursing scholarships. They have some every semester it seems. Just ask them. I don't know much about gpc aid. I have an outside grant.

And I agree- my family is going to have some serious coping problems once school starts. There may be several sandwich dinner nights!

There are a great number of nursing scholarships available, and you will receive information about them, you can view them through the gpc.edu website (not the nursing area). Also, I don't know if they will do this again, but if they send a Kaiser-Permanente rep. to speak to you about the Kaiser Bridge Health Insurance.....if you don't have insurance LISTEN UP AND APPLY! They are not trying to sell you snake oil, the program works and they will provided you and your family with 95% subsidized cadillac kaiser insurance (no dental) if you qualify. Also, if there are any males about 6 feet tall I will set you up with some uniforms ( a bit pen marked up but virtually free, and good back-ups) If they don't make you buy the lab coat, don't I NEVER wore mine once. Enjoy your summer, work hard and save loot.

Echo the bridge. The best reason to go to orientation was to get info on the insurance. I hope they do it for you all. It great!! Enjoy these last couple per reqs. And get ready for the real show.

Hi everyone I have a quick question! I was wondering is there a website you can check to see if you got accepted/not accepted? I have been out of town a lot this semester and its almost 4/30. Im so nervous. Congrats to all those who have made it!
