Let's just start with improvements to become a wonderful nursing student. I need to go ahead and grab me an NCLEX review book and start answering some of those questions. Probably will help me more with some of my current exams.

I feel that I need to improve in every aspect of nursing. I dont know anything of the real world and I pray everyday that I dont harm a patient.

I need to learn to be a little bit more laid back during clinical. I am so uptight and worried about making a mistake, but this attitude interferes with learning. I need to continue to prepare diligently, but I need to act a little calmer and relax my body posture in practice. This will allow me to feel more natural with patients. Also, if I'm not so caught up with my own concerns, I might actually listen to patients more effectively. A laid back attitude will also facilitate the higher quality care that I desire so much!

I am the most laid back person in the world lol, and uh I got a negative comment from my instructor 2 semesters ago she said " oh. You're doing a great job with meds and patient care timemgmt & charting but ive heard from 1 or 2 nurses that you're too laid back, & that makes you look cocky"

Uh what >.

I need to improve my understanding of Peds/OB. Not my strong point but def important stuff to know even if I'm not in those areas.

I need to build my confidence when doing IVPB meds. I get a bit nervous for some reason, I can do they I just need to stop thinking I can't lol

Thanks for the warning Pneumothorax.... It's definitely a balance that I am looking for here... My confidence level in practice is so low, it's actually annoying... and interferes with my ability to provide the highest care possible. (i.e. trying to perfect everything leads to a slow, inefficient pace.... it also makes things less natural). At the same time, I need to approach everything with a degree of intellectual humility (b/c I do not know everything) and a bit of fear (to avoid mistakes).... just not so much!

I need to improve my confidence in what i do know and learn not to be so shy.

Much like Pneumo, I need to improve my understanding of OB. I am still a little wary of working with children as well. Until I get kids of my own, might be hard to understand alllllll of the little intricacies that come with growth and development in a child's illness.

This semester I have my clinicals at CCU/PCU I think I need to manage my time better. Who do I see first? How am I going to round so that I would not skip on something critical.

Time management skills. I am in my final term and am in a preceptorship. I hope to increase my ability to manage my time while providing care to multiple patients.
