I am 22. I have been waiting for this year since I was 18. The year I graduate from Nursing school. I know I have alot of work ahead of me and I hope I'm not jinxing myself by posting this. What will you do after you graduate and Pass NCLEX? I never had any big birthdays, no sweet 16, no party after HS Graduation, No go out and get drunk for 21st. Nothing. I think once I graduate nursing school and pass NCLEX, that may all change. I may either go out and get drunk with some friends. My mom wants to take me to New Orleans (and we can get drunk. A 23 y.o. and a 69 y.o.), that's fine but I'm thinking I wanna do something with my Nursing School friends too. So what will you do?

Buy a pair of Danskos, seriously. Like as soon as I pass the NCLEX. ;)

Specializes in NICU, ED, Forensic Nursing.

Oh good idea with the dansko's and maybe a Littmann. I've wanted one forever, but figured it'd really get ripped off in Nursing School. I'm gonna wait until I get my first paycheck though for the Littmann, that way I'll know for sure to go with a pediatric or adult size steth.

My buddy finished school a few months back, failed his NCLEX, and already had a job in the ER. Hand slaps forehead!

After school I'll take the NCLEX, just once, and go get a job. I've been through a similar situation as an EMT. I passed the EMT practicals and written test first time. I had a job a few weeks later. I guess getting a job will be the crowning acheivment. A beer may be involved.

Specializes in Trauma, Teaching.

I went to Puerto Vallarta, many years ago. THose days, no NCLEX, so I didn't wait for the paper and pencil boards, I just went!

Specializes in Cardiac.

I plan on replacing my nursing student car decal with an updated one only after securing a job and replacing my 19 year old Camry.

Specializes in Psych, LTC/SNF, Rehab, Corrections.

1. Throwing up.

2. Working. I have this job lined up. Seems like it's going to be a nightshift, now. Good thing? I can work once I get 'greenlit' to take NCLEX (virtual ATI). So, that'll be helpful. I'm just glad that I don't have to sit on my GVN.

The REAL question is: What will I do when I get my first paycheck?

Oh...day spa, here I come.

Welcome back, HBO!

I can't wait to get my fabulashes and my facials and pedicures.

Bottom line? I'm looking fwd to rejoining the middle-class.

I'll save the partying for my birthday, I think.

We have 2 trips planned. One to Kauai so I can visit the beach where my grandmother's ashes were scattered (I couldn't be there when they scattered her ashes so I want to go to light a paper lantern) and the other is to Italy. Unless I happen to already have a job lined up, in which case I'll go right to work. LOL

When I graduate Im going to get a tattoo. I want a custom caduceus to represent nurses and their hard work.. When its done I will post a pic.

Specializes in Med/Surg.

Breathe. : ) My mom for sure is coming down from Michigan to watch my pinning ceremony, so my love and I will probably take her to a fancy dinner and take her to see the beach!

I'll finally get married and adopt a child. Class of 2014!

Hoping to finally start our family! LOL. When I zone off from school work, I am most likely pinning nurseries on pinterest. LOL. It's bad. I need to stop.
