What Do You Hate About Nursing School!

I had an aweful day and need some humor to boost my mood.

O.K. I'll start.

Things I hate ablout nursing school!

When you get to clinical and your patient has been discharged, because you have to start a whole new careplan on a different patient.

When you find art history class difficult because you are trying to use critical thinking on your art exams.

When the ex-nurses aid that you have class with always tries to correct the instructor on every procedure because she "Worked as an aid for two years and that's not how they did it"

Let's vent everyone and try to add a little humor. Sometimes if I don't laugh about these things I just might cry. I'd rather laugh about them and keep some sanity (what little I have left at this point). Oh my goodness listen to me it's only October.

Bitter, crotchity professors. :angryfire

Group projects!!!! :angryfire

Administrative SNAFUs :angryfire

Last minute clinical placement switches :angryfire

Ugly uniforms :angryfire

Finding research articles :angryfire

Printer jams in the computer labs :angryfire

whew, that felt good.

BEING BROKE and in debt up to your eyeballs!!! :crying2:

Hey! I didn't know we went to the same nursing school. :rotfl:

Hey guess what? I had to scrape up $5.00 in change today for gas. I had mostly nickels and dimes until I started going through my old purses and low and behold I actually found quarters.

Wow, I bet you got a whole two gallons with that $5, too! :chuckle

I put $20 of regular in my car last week and it didn't even fill it up all the way.

I sure as heck can't wait to change my sig line in a few months!

1.) Taking a Unit exam and getting several questions on a topic you were PROMISED would not be on the test!

2.) Showing up to get your pt assignment the night before clinical and finding out that everyone else in your group is there at the same exact time!

3.) Being called a "paranoid, overachiever" because I asked for all my exam scores to date (there was a computer snafu and I wanted to verify a score.) Then being told "But, we don't give out any A's"

4.) Looking 15 pounds heavier in my ugly uniform.

5.) Having no energy to cook, clean, play with my kids.

That's just today's gripes!:uhoh21:

Hmmmm...good question. It depends on what day of the week you ask this question, but today's complaints are:

-Labor and delivery. Why on earth do I have to take this class! AGH!

-4 hour lectures.

-When you schedule a home visit with your patient, you show up at their house and they're not at home! ARGH!

-The fact that graduation isn't until April 2005. It can't get here soon enough...

I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but at this point, I can honestly say that there isn't one thing that I hate about nursing school.

It would be nice if campus and my clinical assigment were 5 minutes away instead of 20.

I dislike getting up at 5:00 AM to go to clinical.

I wish the cafeteria would serve veggie pizza.

I wish the skills lab was warmer.

That's about it. :)

Um yes, could thet be any more flattering? *sarcasm* Gotta love that panty line:p

Hmmm, i have an instructor who goes through a whole spill about something that is truly important, like say...the flow blood through the heart...then gives inaccurate info., catches herself, nonchalantly says.."oooh, i was lyin' to ya." Proceeds w/the lecture and never gives us the correct info, then when asked to give us the right info.....she gives the same darn wrong info. again! What a dork that woman is!

I dunno....the lack of sleep and abundance of work is pretty dang funny to me right now. I am guessing it's because I'm delerious.

Classes so long that you can feel yourself dehydrating. Breaks so short you have to decide between getting food OR going to the bathroom. And you really need both.

Balancing nursing school with a full time job. :o

Check-offs. :crying2:

Feeling like their is always something unpleasant and/or stressful looming in the future. Asking yourself, "is what I'm feeling a return of my chemical imbalance, or is it just nursing school?" lol

White shoes when you have big feet anyway.

It's the chemical imbalance caused BY nursing school, lol. Or it is in my case.

I'm not ashamed, I'm on Xanax, Lexapro, and any other drug they wanna put me on to take the edge off of this year.
