What do you use to carry your books around?

I was wondering what is the best way to transport my books around? I have always used a regular backpack but from what I hear, nursing books are BIG and HEAVY!!! I would like to make my life easier and avoid damaging my body as much as possible :nono:. Is a rolling backpack the way to go? What do you guys use? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I used a rolling bag my first year. I thought I had to take ALL my books to class and I used my laptop. After about 4-5 weeks, and I got the feel for my teachers' styles, I decided I didn't need every book for every class but I still used my rolling bag for my laptop and all the other stuff you gotta have (read: food).

This next year, I'm just going to use my messenger bag to carry my laptop and notebook and plug. Rarely did I use any of my books last semester and I don't feel like lugging my rolling bag anymore. That sucker gets heavy and cumbersome. I love the bag (a Jansport) but I'd rather carry less this year. What that really means is that I've gotten lazy. ;)

I use a backpack on wheels. It's actually like a piece of luggage with lots of compartments that I bought at Best Buy. It fits everything I need including my little netbook that I bring with me everyday. It's not too big either. Everyone has their own style though, but for me it's not about fashion as much as it is about functionality.

Good luck :D

I found that a rolling backpack didn't give me the necessary room so I use a scrapbooking bag (also rolling). If I know I don't need as many books in class that day, I have another messenger bag that I carry on my shoulder.

The scrapbooking bag has really caught on in my class and I see about 20 other students now doing the same thing as myself.

Same here. There's no way I'm bringing my 2000-page med/surg book to class every week. We rely on PP notes anyway.

Same here, too! Books usually stay at home for me.

for the most part I have a majority of my books on PDF so I just bring a laptop. I spend about a week doing this so I'm not forced to carry books, yet means I can study anywhere.

I use a big purse and I love it.

A purple rolling backback. Those books are real heavy!

im sorry but i hate rolling backpacks... my feet have been run over too many times, and the people that use are the people that get in the elevator to go up one floor! I only use the elevator if i am going up to the 5th or 6th floor, but it is such a wait to get on it due to the 10,000 people with rolling backpacks in front of me waiting to get to the first floor.

ok sorry, my rant is over. like thatguy said, if you do get one, please drive responsibly.

I just carry mine wherever I go. It helps work out my arms and lats. lol- seriously, most classes you don't even need your book because EVERYTHING is done with power-point. You will get the hang of it.
