What color is your uniform? - page 4

for school/clinicals? Reading the buying scrubs thread and thinking about all white... just curious if white is the norm for most schools, or if any others have a little more color! LOL :)... Read More

Ours are a royal blue scrub top and jacket with school logo embroidered in white, and white scrub pants. Shoes have to be all white.

Our school has specific uniforms (They are really ugly and very 70s). They are a zip up top with puffy short sleeves and three buttons on each side in the front. The pants are elastic waist (that stretch out and fall down after just a few clinicals. Our shoes must be "nursing" shoes and not look like sneakers in any way, shape, or form. I can't wait to graduate so that I can give my uniform to another unsuspecting nursing student coming up behind me!

The mens uniforms are also white and make them look like a dentist.

our uniforms are solid white with red piping. They are so ugly and uncomfortable. The nursing teacher said they are going to a more modern and cheaper scrub for the next classes. Our uniforms for 1 set was $95.00. They have a buttoned on bid on the front and zip all the way up the back. We look like we raided the nursing homes closets. I will be excited when we graduate and we can wear scrubs. I feel that a nurse needs to be comfortable when working with a patient and our uniforms are defintly not made for comfort. They have had the same uniform for way to many years. Sorry, had to vent on this subject.

f.y.i. not me in the pic
    Hi camkib!

Not only do I recognize the gentleman in the pic, I also recognize your school logo because I use to be a clinical instructor for CNA students at that college years ago.

I wish you the best in nursing!

Geez, and I used to complain about my all-white student outfits....at least they were of a design of my own choosing, and not something with puffed sleeves (I was in my late 30s in school, how absurd THAT would have looked!) or, God forbid, a bib or apron like candystripers used to wear "back in the day". They also were cheaper than some of the uniforms described here. I guess looking like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man wasn't so bad after all.....

Our scrubs are "Galaxy" blue with the school logo on the front pocket of the shirt and the pocket on the back of the pants. I guess that it to remind us that our "butts" belong to the school right now. As for our uniforms, we have white blouses with patch on the left sleeve and white pants topped off by a lovely "Galaxy" blue apron with BSCC embroidered on it. Very very classy...
