Spent 1/2 hr crying in bathroom, can I vent?

Sorry everyone, but I must vent. I wonder how much more I can take on my shoulders. Nursing school, working full-time, and kids is enough stress. Now the stress keeps piling up. My father-in-law was diagnosed with prostate cancer right before Christmas. My youngest son (4yo) is being evaluated for autistic disorder (and yes, I think he has it - he has sooo many problems), AND I just did a self breast exam and found a very suspicious lump so now I'll be going through who knows what. Unfortunately, this lump fits the malignant criteria to a tee. I know that it could still be benign, but it is a painless, nonmobile, hard little lump. Ok, I feel better now. I think. Gotta get through this semester! SG

Aww im sorry for what your going through. Doesnt it seem that from the start of nursing school, the stress and problems start building up? I hope everything turns out ok, and dont worry everyone needs to vent... thats why this site is such a hit!!! We all know what its like. Take care

It's perfectly ok to vent, and glad you did. (((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))

I'm sorry you're so distressed.. you DO have a full plate, and these feelings of discouragement are perfectly natural.

Get the lump checked out stat and take time for yourself.. SOMEHOW.

Keep the faith.. hope is all we have. Lose that, and we're sunk.

We're here, so feel free to unload. We all do at one time or another. :kiss

Sorry for your situation...Hope you'll manage the stress. Best of luck to you!

Is there ANY way you can cut back on your hours of work? Take out a loan? Cut back on expenses? Beg and borrow from family? Sounds to be like you are being the emotional support of EVERYONE, including yourself, when you really need support yourself. Another thing, I hope your health question turns out to be a false scare, but I will add that nursing school makes us all a little paranoid since we learn about all sorts of things. Here's hoping you find peace soon.

so sorry to hear about your troubles. GET THAT LUMP CHECKED OUT NOW! Are your grades pretty good? Is there anyway you could get a scholarship to help out with expenses or take out loans? So sorry to hear about FIL, mine was just diagnosed at christmas time with stage 3 colon cancer, so i feel for you. Don't forget to take a little time just for you everyday (even if it is only 15-20 minutes) Things will get better!

I'm very sorry to hear about this, my heart goes out to you.

I hope the lump turns out to be nothing, remember MOST lumps AREN'T cancer! Last year I found a lump in my right breast. I am 23 and nursing my baby, but it still really freaked me out. I went to a specialist and after the ultrasound we found out it was a fibroid adenoma and can be removed after I'm finished nursing my toddler. I had one surgically removed when I was 16 too. Non-cancerous. Many lumps are caused by hormones. They are a PITA, and scary, but nothing much. I hope that turns out to be the case for you to. Let us know what happens. (((HUGS)))

Enfermera, I'm so sorry that life has become so overwhelming. Take a deep breath and PRIORITIZE! The lump is ultra important, and so is your son. I hope there are others in the family that can help wit hFIL ( iknow, they rely on your knowledge, but you have to think of you right now) Let someone in your faculty (an advisor or close teacher) know that you are having a rough time..they can sometimes pull $$ out of a hat to help ease that burden. Also, know that your friends here are thinking good thoughts and praying for you.
