Nursing school = Acne?

OY! :angryfire Where did all this acne come from? I am 27 years old how did I get break ou face again LOL! It's like every other day or so a new one forms. WAAAA!!!! Embarrassing and painful!!!!

Does anyone else have little oddities popping up after starting nursing school? :coollook:

Pro Active hates me, it doesn't work.

Right now I'm on antibiotics, Retin-A and Ortho Tri-Cyclen for my breakouts.

Ugh..me too, but not school or stress related, just once a month since hitting 30. Don't think I had more than about two zits all through my teens, but for awhile there, I think I had acne plus a secondary skin infection from messing with them (I know, I know..just can't stand to leave them there!!). The only thing that has worked for me so far is a medicated facial scrub. St. ives, which has the added benefit of being cheap. I think it's a matter of exfoliation for me now.

I noticed about 4 or 5 zits on my face a couple days ago when I was applying make-up. I think that's what the stress of having 3 tests this week does to you.:chuckle

One thing that a lot of women do not think of:

You have your compact pressed powder, and a lot of people use that to blot out shine. Well you put that puff on the powder, then pat all over your face, then put that same puff back ON the powder, creating a nice petrie dish for bacteria.

Soon as i started using a tissue for my compacts and throwing the tissue out when i was done each time, i didn't break out until nursing school hit.

OK- I had cystic acne when I lived in FL but since moving to AZ it has been clear for 3 years now. I have been in nursing school and under different stressors in the last three years. It hasn't been since I began my job at a nursing home that I have had an extreme fair up of cystic pimples. I am thinking it could be environmental--- more resident interaction, more infections, more bacteria= hello acne. Has anyone else experienced this too?

I get attacked by the pimple fairy often! Always in the same spots too. Sucks.

Had my first grey hair the other day. It was a sad sad realization. I thought about coloring it with a sharpie, but I decided against that and just pulled it out. My friends thought it was the funniest thing in the world when I told them. Me not so much. :angthts:

I notice A LOT of people putting on weight. It was really weird to see people put on the pounds so fast. I've been safe from this, for now.

As for the acne, I use proactiv as well. It works wonders.

i feel the pain too! haven't had a break out in quite a few years. just got hit with shingles and then to top it off acne popping out on my jaw line. yuck! definitely stress :crying2:

i've been using the neutrogena face scrub with redness reduction...it's in a green tube and it really helps. i use it when i don't have breakouts as well. also the neutrogena spot treatment really helps too!!

Not so much acne but cold sores! I used to get them maybe once a year, but have 2 just in the last 7 weeks!
