I'm a nurse corps scholar in California, and just finished the first year of my BSN program. My GPA was 3.7 and my efc was 0. I had over 120 hours volunteer experience at a hospital and had a semester's worth of public health research, piloting a study in a low income community for a university. I also am from a low income area and from a family of immigrants.

I can't believe I forgot to include my research! Oh well! I'm the Student Government president at my school. That should count for something ☺. You ladies have a great chance! I'm praying for all of us. BertG77 thanks for the input! It's greatly appreciated!

Thanks I really hope so! I hope we all get it! I'm praying! Yes I've been stalking the forums for almost a year! LOL!

I don't know how I overlooked this thread! I applied for the scholarship last Thursday. Good luck to everyone that applied! Let's keep each other updated!

I'm in my 2nd semester in an accelerated BSN program at MUSC. 3.73 cum nursing GPA (I'm a 2nd degree student). EFC in the low 1000s. I grew up in an underserved area. Taught math for GED students in an underserved area. Worked as an ekg tech/ patient tech and also worked in forensic psychiatry where i worked with the prison population, which people fail to realize is also an underserved population . This December i will be traveling to India for 14 days to do research, community outreach, patient education and cancer screenings. Just like everyone else, I realllly hope i get this scholarship! (:
