Soooooo.....if anyone is applying this year around or previously has and was or wasn't accepted please tell me your experience! Here are my stats PLEASE share yours if you'd like....

1st semester done ( :) ) asking for 2 years assistance

GPA 3.44

EFC 0000

4 years of community service in underserved communities

Hello! Yes we do forget that the prison system is an underserved population! I wish all of you the very best. Good luck!

I'm a nurse corps scholar in California, and just finished the first year of my BSN program. My GPA was 3.7 and my efc was 0. I had over 120 hours volunteer experience at a hospital and had a semester's worth of public health research, piloting a study in a low income community for a university. I also am from a low income area and from a family of immigrants.

Ouff putting me to shame :cheeky:

Congrats! thanks for the input. I know it's still early but I keep wanting to check my status ha. I keep telling myself not to until July so I don't go crazy but I can't help it! When did you get the congrats email? Did they check your credit? I heard some people they did some they didnt.

Hey, you're no slouch! From the look of it you're an ideal candidate! I hope you get it!

Don't feel bad...I've checked my status about 2-3 times since the deadline (:

Hi everyone! So glad this thread was started, too.

I found out about this scholarship when I got in to Emory's ABSN program, so all of this is fairly new to me.

I'll be starting at Emory in the fall (it's a 15 month program)!

1. GPA: 3.67 (nursing pre-reqs only)

2. Previous degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech

3. Extensive work in student orientation during my undergrad career and ~100 hours of elementary tutoring at a school in downtown Atlanta

4. Currently working as a PCT at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

5. EFC 000000

I am not sure what my chances are, but this scholarship would help me out tremendously as Emory is a private institution, and I would LOVE to get out of Georgia for awhile and work in an underserved community (hopefully at another children's hospital in Texas).

Just a quick question...is anyone's application currently "Under Review"?

And good luck to all of you!!

Hi, I also applied

Gpa: 3.64

Mine currently says under review. I cannot wait to find out!

Yay! I'm from Cleveland! Good luck!

So I'e checked my status a few times lol! It says "Under Review". I believe everyone's does at this point. Does anyone's say anything different?

I don't think I found out until late August. It was stressful because I didn't know what my status was and needed to know in order to make arrangements to pay for classes. I accepted federal aid to pay for the first semester and nurse corps reimbursed them later.

Post here when you get your credit checked. Some people on the medical boards say they've already gotten their credit checked for NHSC. As an MSN-PMHNP student, I applied for both NHSC and NURSE Corps... such a long wait!
