Hello there. I was trying to look into older posts about older HRSA or Nurse Corp scholarship winners. I currently applied to the 2013-2014 cycle and attending a private nursing school. I have a EFC of 0 and basically none of my parents work. Just this past Wednesday I received and email congratulating me on being chosen for the Nurse Corp scholarship. I was pretty excited about the good news but the email also said I needed to accept the award. I went to the HRSA website and it is asking for additional information and at the top it says I am a finalist and the award is not guaranteed. My question is did I get the scholarship or not? The email and the website contradict each other. Have any of you applied for the scholarship? Any responses? I also called HRSA about the W-4 forms they are asking for and apparently they are having problems with that whole process. So yea any inquiries or comments would be REALLY helpful.

Hi to everyone on this thread and congratulations to all of you who have received welcome emails and scholarships! I received the "congratulations" email on July 18 and I have not yet heard anything more from nursecorps. My portal still says "in final review" I am wondering if there is anyone else in this position and if anyone knows whether all of the awards have been definitively awarded as I was told when I called BCRS yesterday or whether they are still distributing them. I would love any information anyone can share (including whether anyone has been awarded since August 31). I had taken the original congratulations email as confirmation of being awarded but it's looking like that may not be the case. Thanks a lot.

Thanks. Did you get the email telling you to sign into the bcrs website? If you still log into the nurse corp page and it still says final review just wait for the other emails. I got two like 2 weeks ago I believe telling me to log into a new page which my information and another email saying I had a message on my account and to check out my welcome kit. I heard that as long as you got the email saying you got it and it still shows you're a finalist you got the award. I guess they are still distributing the emails? I'm just waiting on the tuition distribution. I sent my school a copy of my award letter along with the invoice instructions. So no worries just be patient. Keep us posted :))

Thanks for your encouragement! I only received one email from BCRS which was the initial "congratulations" email that asked me to submit my W4 and proof of enrollment. I uploaded those to the portal and it has said "in final review" since I did that on July 19. It still says "in final review" but since I have had no further contact from BCRS, I am not sure what to make of it. I really appreciate you sharing your experience and responding to me, bethlemem18. It's hard not be extremely anxious at this point...I would just like to know one way or the other at this point.

Thanks. You can call me Belen :) oh you're still at the step? I'm sure you'll get the emails soon, the final email will come soon. And don't worry I was the same. I was paranoid with getting the award or not but the final email came and it was just relief. I'm really hoping you get it soon!!

Just got the email to log on as a participant! So grateful and relieved. They are DEFINITELY still working through the awards so everyone, hang in there! Thanks again for the camaraderie of this board.

My Name's Greg and I would be more than willing to start this facebook group to establish continuity for information gathering, questions, and concerns. The group would be named "Nurse Corp Scholarship Participants FY2013." It is required that I have at least one facebook friend to add to get this group started. The issue is that I do not have any fb friends who are recipients of the Nurse Corp Scholarship Award! So we have a bit of a conundrum there. If one of you would be willing to add me as a friend under "Gregory Marcellin" I could as you as a friend, then get the group started and add everyone else! I really would like to see the continuity of this program in order for us to advocate not only for ourselves, but ultimately for those in underserved communities. In the meanwhile, have a great Sunday!
